Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Just called customer service. They don’t have an ultra fine filter for the Scuba (yet). I’ve noticed that the fine silt isn’t trapped inside the filter. The floor looks clean after the scuba does its job but the next morning I see the same amount of silt on the floor again so I guess it’s just settles back down overnight.

how long have you had the Betta SE Plus and are you happy with it. My Surfer thru Aioer is still on back order and they told me it won’t be available for ant least another month BUT Amazon has them in stock for delivery in 2 days. I told that to customer service and they offered to cancel my order so I can get it a moth sooner with Amazon. That was very accommodating. So my question is, the Betta SE Plus on Amazon is about $80 than the Surfer so is it worth it other than having a matching set?
Betta is worth $358 imo, it's known reliable. I'd but directly from Betta with warranty (same price). Matching would be nice as long as there's no problems. I wouldn't be surprised if Betta makes both, they look so similar.

I purchased mine on Amazon when it was att that $358 price. Then I went on Betta website to purchase 3 yr warranty.
I was on chat with Betta customer service, said that they could not match Amazon price but offered a token 5% off. Still cheaper on Amazon so that is what I did. Then I used the 5% coupon on Betta to purchase the warranty which knocked off $3

Betta SE Plus is $358 at either place today.

If I didn't already have the Seagull Pro, I'd probably buy the S1, although the Pro is cheaper now, knowing me I'd probably buy it again. I only had issues with 2 returns a year ago, so far very happy with it (other than the tire mod I had to make so wouldn't get stuck on drains). I'm guessing the S1 has less chance of that with its treads. If they really have the ultra fine filter for just the Pro, I'd buy it again.

Just placed an order for a Scuba S1 using the ASAP15 code for an additional discount price and ended up paying $475.99. Have a 27’ round so should be plenty good for it, I hope.

I'm curious, since it has a 2 year warranty, does the 3 year make it 5 total? Aiper is good about 30 day money back (I'm sure Walmart is too), and they're good about repairs. No clue about Allstate.
according to Walmarts website it runs concurrently. If I get one I'm just going to buy it on my amex platinum so that I get another year added.

On paper the S1 seems the way to go. But everyone's pool is different, and I'm sure results are different. That's what the ability to return is for! The S1 controls are 100% better than the Seagull. I have no problem with the Seagull basket (other than not fine enough), it seldom misses a leaf. I had to modify the rear wheels so it wouldn't get stuck on drains, maybe the tracks on the S1 eliminate that issue. I really don't know how these places stay in business with all the returns they must get.
I have the Seagull Pro and it keeps getting stuck on my main drain. I have been following your mod but before doing to much I saw their website said to call them for an accessory if having problems with getting stuck on the drain. Of course they told me they have no accessories and and advised the Scuba S1 would be better because of the tracks. Without pushing they are sending me a return label (purchased in Nov 2023). We will see if this all works out so easy….

I have had a similar experience to yours. Opened my pool a few days ago and used my new Scuba S-1 for the very first time. I also noticed how it acted confused and there didn’t seem to be a pattern that I could detect. It also had a problem climbing up the steep incline from my 8’ deep end to the 3.5” shallow end.
The floor mode is pretty much for the flat bottom areas of my pool and it avoids the concave walls in the hopper of the deep end up to the bottom of the 90 degree side walls. It does those all in wall mode.
On day 2, it was like it learned my pool. It did the floors from side wall to side wall and, when it got ,to the steep incline, it continued to go back and forth like it did the floors and cleaned the entire incline going side to side. In wall mode, it did the 90 degree walls plus the concave sides of the hopper. When it got to the flat surface, it reversed itself and continued up the concave and 90 degree walls.
My only issues are the stairs and swim out where it gets into those areas and gets “stuck,” but works itself out.
All in all, I’m happy enough to keep it. I still have my suction side cleaner for backup and for very heavy cleaning but that will be once in a while. I’m now waiting for my Surfer S-1 skimmer as that’s the one that will be running every day for many hours as I hate seeing a single leaf or other debris floating on the surface. Now I’ll just let the Surfer do its thing.
FYI. - I’ve used it 3 times so far and it ran for a full 3 hours each time. The recharge took about 2 hours.
My advice, just put it in the pool and don’t fixate on watching it. At the end of the 2+ hours, your pool should be clean. Good luck with it.
Update one week later.
I’ve decided to keep my scuba S-1 since, after my misgivings on day one, it’s now performing quite well.
It runs for a solid 3 hours, which is plenty to clean my 20x40 pool, and charges back up in about 2.5 hours.
I’ve been running it on floor only mode as that’s where the dirts settles. It has no problem going from the deep end to the shallow end and back again multiple times. Had dirt in both the shallow end and deep end so I put it in at 5PM & then went out to dinner. Came home around 8:00 and the bottom was spotless. About 15 minutes later, it moved to the side wall and just sat there waiting to be removed. Easy, peasy.
I plan on doing the wall only mode once a week since my pool is vinyl and stays relatively clean.
Now time for getting the skimmer.

Got my Seagull Pro "ultra fine" 250um basket today. It actually looks coarser than the original! Looking at it with a loop, it has 5.5 holes/rows per 1/10". The original has 6-6.6, which to me says it's finer mesh. I just ran a cycle, debris doesn't look different. Not worth the $30 it cost, but extra basket is always nice to have. No markings on it to differentiate it. ☹️

Pretty sure they got "mesh" and "micron" reversed and they accidentally made coarser filters. I sent them this to see what they say.

It would be nice if there was a good comparison page on their website. I'm trying to figure out the difference between the Scuba S1 Pro and N1 Pro. And if it's worth getting the Pro over the standard. Looks like the Pro have more motors. Is that worth spending an extra few hundred? I have no idea.

I think I heard the difference between S1 and N1 is the color

There is a video I watched on YouTube of Aiper at CES. The difference is the S1 is sold online and the N1 is sold in brick and mortar. Same exact unit short of color and sales channel.

Similar model to how Polaris handles some of their product.

Thank you both. I tried to multi quote, not sure if it worked.

I might order the Scuba S1 Pro today. Just got an email with an extra $100 off over their daily $200 off.
