IntelliCenter2 Migration to Pentair Home

@MyAZPool - I was just prompted also. Is there a method to this madness? I know I'm resurrecting almost old thread - thought it was worth an ask.
Hi Wes..
I'm not sure what their methodology is, regarding when and who gets prompted to migrate over to Pentair Home. I just know that they are not doing everyone at the same time for several reasons.
Thanks...

Hi All,

I see with the latest release of the Pentair Home App (4.1.7), Apple Watch and iPhone widgets are now available 👏. Both are similar to what we had with the IntelliCenter2 app. At this point, I believe, PHA is the better alternative. Agree?

I agree. The newly released 4.1.7 incorporates some needed improvements.

However...
When tapping within the text/number blocks, it still hides those text blocks when the iPhone is in "Zoomed" display mode. Kind of a bummer for those of us "older" folks who prefer or need the zoomed mode on the iPhone. I find that I must go to Settings > Display & Brightness > View and change it from Zoomed to Standard and then fill in the required blocks. Then when done, I then need to go back and change back to zoomed. Grrrrr.

I let the guys know about it when we were evaluating the beta version on Test Flight. So at least they are aware and hopefully working on a fix.

Also, I wish they would make "upgrading" to newer app updates a bit more user-friendly. I find that I had to delete the older version (4.1.6) and then download the newer version (4.1.7) and start over with inputting username and password, etc. However, that could just be the fact that I was transitioning from the Beta to the Prod version. Not really sure. So guess we'll see if others who were not in the beta group experience the same thing.

Thanks Tony!

I migrated to the new app the other day and I totally regret migrating. I realize that they will likely force everyone to move over...but at least I could have stayed on the old app a bit longer. It's not intuitive to navigate at all. I find just simply touching the right area to navigate or change something difficult. They bizarrely removed the ability to select more than one item to display on the graph in the history section. Functionally, I see some very strange behavior when changing pump speed...that frankly concerns me that it could damage the pump. When I change the speed, the pump completely shuts off for a brief few seconds only to very abruptly start again. It's not a smooth transition at all. When I would change the speed in the old app, it would immediately start to slowly either ramp up or down in speed. They also disabled the ability to copy/paste into the password field. So you have to manually type it in. I keep all my passwords in a secure file and they're all super long and complex. This is literally the only website or app I have that doesn't allow paste for the password field. This new app is a step backwards in virtually every way. I will not be using it all and will just use the web interface on the browser on my phone. Not ideal...but it just is what it is.

I've found issues with this app. First was it not adjusting to my display settings so I couldn't even put in my password without changing the display settings on my iPhone. This makes he app not compliant with the ADA for visually impaired. Next I had to manually force it to sync the IntelliCenter with my phone to update to daylight savings time. There's time servers on the internet and the IntelliCenter should update from a time server, not my phone's time. This option shouldn't even be in the app. Then, when I tried to heat my spa, it set the heat to the pool heat temperature which is much lower than the spa temperature so I had to go to the heater and manually set the temperature. There's been issues with the pump staying on a higher speed when the schedule says it should be at a lower speed. I've also noticed the abrupt stop then start up again when changing speeds. I reported all these issues to Pentair and they give me links to basic instructions etc but only after I have to repeat myself and tell them I didn't sign up to be in a beta program for this app and it isn't ready for Releas to Market do they send it to a higher level but now I haven't heard back in over a week. I'd say it's an EPIC FAIL.

Do you have your IntelliCenter set to Internet or Manual time?

Is there a way someone can recommend a feature for Pentair Home? I love how you can set it to turn on your lights at sunset. I would like to suggest being able to delay for a specified amount of minutes after sunset. I have 3 lights (pool, spa, fountain) and I have my Pentair lights in romance mode. I like the Pool and Fountain to be one color and the spa to be a different color. The way to accomplish this is to have a delay so that the spa is syncing at a different time than the pool and fountain and therefore a different color.

Call Pentair Support and describe your feature request to them.

I find this thread very interesting. I just had my system refurbished with Pentair equipment including the IntelliCenter. The documentation instructs to install and control via the Pentair Home app. I did that but only the Intelliflo pump was available to connect and it said it was controlled by automation.

After searching for a while and not finding a solution I called Pentair. They told me that I needed to install the Intellicenter2 app and then migrate.

I installed the old app and was able to connect. I don’t see an option to migrate and after reading this thread I will forget about it until I am forced to do so.

I decided to stop ignoring the pop up message and upgrade to Pentair home.

I changed my pw per the prompts and then setup my new profile on Pentair home. It tells me my zip code does not match the state and won’t let me proceed.

Anyone else have this issue? I’ve tried every zip code I know in TX and it keeps giving me the error message.

Now I can’t use the new app or the old one. Way to go Pentair, another outstanding software update. 👍

Just tried to migrate after getting a bunch of emails from them and I'm getting the same error message with the zip code in NY. Read all the negative reviews and a Google search brought me to this thread. Luckily we still have about a month until opening but this is not a good sign for a new "upgraded" platform launch. I'll try emailing their app support and see how it goes.

I'm in Texas and upgraded Friday, mine worked with my Houston zip code, 77024. Overall the app seems to working OK, but pump speed is very slow to update when I change it (seemed faster on the old app).

Thanks. I just tried again at lunch and it recognized my home zip code and finished the registration process. I have automation again!

@Snikwah ,
I believe with the latest version of Pentair Home App (4.1.9), this issue has been resolved.
