Need help selecting a pump

Howdy, I have an old Hayward Super II that’s just completely wore out. Started leaking on the shaft seal, but when pulling it apart to repair, it was clear that it’s pretty much at end of life. Had a guy come out to look at it, but figured I might as well just tackle this one on my own and be done with it.

Pool is about 10,000 gallons with spa and waterfalls… maybe about 3 feet elevated from equipment pad to main pool fill.
Currently has 60sf Hayward DE filter, and Polaris sport cleaner with booster pump. Control system is Jandy Aqualink retrofitted sometime after pool was built, but unknown when, before 2017.

Existing pump is 2.25 single speed motor.
The water falls are on a second 1hp pump. Looks like both are 110v. I’m happy to go with a single speed pump again, but if that isn’t an option I’d like to get a big enough variable to eventually remove the second pump and run all through one.

I’m going to DIY this and would appreciate the help making sure I get the right one.

Welcome to TFP.

Do you have iAqualink? What Rev level is your Aqualink system? We need to confirm your Aqualink system has VS pump support.

I would get a Pentair Intelliflo3 with touchscreen 011077 pump...

I’ll have to look and see on software version. It sounds like iaqualink is the phone app, and I don’t have that. My only controller is the aquapalm and looks like this.

What pump models does your PDA let you select?

@PoolGate @HermanTX can help with the setup.

I would definitely stick with a Jandy pump. If you have the PDA, you have Aqualink.
I don’t appear to have the PDA. It’s just marked AquaPalm on the bottom of the screen and I’ve never seen any options to select pump details. When I turn it on, i go to menu and the only options are set temp, set time, and palm options. The palm options submenu has auto-off, backlight, and assign hotkeys. When I turn it on it very quickly flashes up the following after connecting for software details.

AquaPalm
Firmware Version
J-Box: 4.0
Handheld: 3.0

I pulled out my AqualinkRS Service controller and plugged it into my controller box and then went to diagnostics it flashed up the following: E0260801 Rev QQ. I went through the menus and I did not see any selections related to pumps. Lots of other settings for date, time, DST adjustment, freeze protect, temperature probe offsets, etc. and of course all of the run time programming menus.

On this main screen - have you scroll down past what is shown?
It has been a while since I played with programming but there should be a selection to get to pump setup.
I will try to find my notes.

That is an Aqualink RS All Button Control Panel. That is not a special service controller.

That is the first generation Aqualink control panel. It does not have the user interface for VS pumps even though the support is in your Aqualink RS panel.

To see the pump VS settings you need the One Touch controller. Or iAqualink app if you were at Rev R or higher.

I don’t know if your Aquapalm can get to the pump VS settings.
