I just wanted to remind our members how important it is to read the labels on household bleach before you use it in your pool. I had noticed what looked like a good price on store brand bleach ($1.25 for 64 ounces). When looking at the label the strength was 1.5%! Splash Free bleach (which we don't recommend) was 4.5% strength. The Low Splash bleach was yet another low concentration. Chlorox Scented No Splash doesn't list a strength, but it does come with a disclaimer that says it is not for sanitizing or disinfecting, while Chlorox regular No Splash lists a strength of 4.5%. Most of the bleach I saw that was labeled "concentrated" had a strength of 7.5%.

So be sure and check those labels before you buy, sometimes the labels look very similar.
