5 ppm Chorine
7.6 pH
90 ppm alkalinity
80 ppm Cyanuric acid

Is this ok, this is before he put chemicals today.

"1 Tab"
"1lb shock"

He loaded it up last week and this week the chlorine is 5 and last week it was 3, is this safe to swim in with 5 and is the acid too high, regular water, not salt.

Thanks

Welcome!

No and no. Your CYA is way high probably caused by the tab and shock powder.

Youre chlorine is actually too low and your pH is perfect.

Stop the Tabs and start liquid chlorine! You will need a proper Test Kits Compared.
Also read up on draining your pool, you will most likely need to drain 60% of the water.
Drain it? It just got filled for the first time a month ago. We got a company to manage the water, you think they'll have to drain it??

I just tested the water and the numbers are even higher than ehat the company stated.

They skyrocketed your CYA to 80 in one month?

You have to drain water and refill with fresh to get rid of the excess. That’s why we don’t recommend pucks or powder, only liquid chorine, or use a salt chlorinator.
Seems a little weird that CYA got that high in one month with fresh water??Also what was the CH?Your heading for trouble already if you keep using tabs and shock
What shock did they use?Cal Hypo or Di Chlor?
Stick to liquid or get a SWG

None of the results are anything usable unless they’re completed by you, the pool owner, using a recommended test kit. The “pool guy” most certainly isn’t using a quality kit and if you tested right behind him, you’d likely get different results. It’s just the nature of pool services and why TFP teaches a method that allows you to get rid of that cost and hassle.

You likely have 5ppm of FC because that’s as high as his OTO will test for… totally useless.

Post up results from your own test kit, and we can help. Otherwise, you’re flying blind.

Also be really helpful to fill out your signature and read up on pool school.

Do you know what was added by the company? That is why TFP methods require you to know what was added. I would not let anyone add anything to my pool unless i decide its needed based on accurate testing. What test kit are you using? Can you post test results like this:
FC
PH
TA
CH
CYA
Temp
CSI
Make sure you download the TPF app so you can track your testing.

You can see my test results in my signature.
