Replaced old pool pump with new Pentair VS 342002 pump. To get pool running I disconnected the old pump and reconnected new pump and turned on the breaker. Everything is running but I have a question concerning rewiring the pump in the panel. My old pump was a single speed that was wired to a T104 timer, which is wired to another T104 connected to my polaris booster pump. These are both connected to a 2 pole 20 amp breaker non GFCI. I know current codes call for GFCI breakers. I need to buy a GFCI for the new Pentair pump and from forum it should be a siemens PA220GF 20 Amp 2 pole. I assume that I remove pump from the T104 and wire direct to the GFCI, correct? Then I'd remove the first T104 and wire and keep the polaris wired to the T104 timer and wire it direct to another 2 pole 20 amp breaker.

Sounds correct, yes. You can also use one T104 on one GFCI breaker. Wires from breaker and pump go to terminals 1 & 3. Wires to Polaris pump to 2 & 4. Both pumps are then GFCI protected. That way, if the GFCI does trip and the filter-pump stops the booster will not run dry and be damaged.

Ok. I want the pool pump to stay programmed so it would not need to be on a T104 timer anymore. The polaris I want on timer and will set pool pump to be on higher RPM while polaris runs. So I need one PA220GF 20amp gfci breaker and another Siemens of square D 20amp gfci connected to the T104 timer for polaris? My international panel is model T40004RT3. Label says Siemens QPF or a square D HOM type GFCB.

Correction panel is an Intermatic
