Well, I was randomly surfing on Amazon (yes I have a problem). And I discovered a Betta SE Plus.

It has the missing feature we were all looking for adaptor based charging in addition to solar. Now I just got my Betta 2 back, but had they offered me an upgrade to the plus I probably would have taken it.

Has anyone here purchased the new plus model?

I have the standard SE model. However, I have never had a real need to take it out and plug it in to charge the battery. Sure on cloudy days, it may not run the entire night cleaning. But so what if I miss one night of cleaning. It is back on the job again once the sun peaks out.

I'm about to order it. 10% off at their website. The discount pays for the extra 2 year warranty coverage. My pool is 60-75% shaded, 100% until about noon. The charger will help a lot! New nice to see 2 skimmers at work, since I have 5 large oak trees overhanging.

Has anyone gotten the new model? It seems to have some reviews on Amazon where people are complaining about the strength of the motors. I reached out to the company and they’re supposed to be the same motors as last year‘s model. I’m interested in the newer model so that I can charge it overnight if needed

It travels the same speed and lasts WAY longer!

Would you buy it from Amazon or Betta directly? I’m trying to see who has a better warranty option.

If you can get the Asurion warranty I would get it from Amazon. But that does not seem to be an option anymore. Based on that I would buy directly from Betta and get the 3 year warranty.

I just emailed with Betta. It was $30 cheaper on Amazon. They said I could still buy the Betta warranty even though my purchase was on Amazon. I’ll give it a go!

I agree. The only time I think it would be helpful to me is at the start of the year. I just put mine in this last week and it took a day or two to get up to speed due to cloudy days. Not a bad feature to add, but I would not upgrade for it.

It's really nice having it charged and ready to go as soon as the old one goes red. Keeps lots of catkins out of the pool (but it's a losing battle). I keep my FC at 7-8, yet I still end up having to slam because of them. After a rain the other day my FC went from 7 to 1 overnight. Hopefully bumping my SWG to max will get it back up.

I just got the non-plus on Amazon, it was delivered on Friday. I'm not sure what the normal price was, but it was being advertised as a limited time price of like $328. Well worth it. I don't want another thing to charge, and my pool gets full sun. Yesterday was overcast, but it seemed to be running most of the day. It would park for a little while to presumably charge. Out of the box, I doubt it had a full charge. Today is sunny, and it's been running all day. As others have said, I don't care if it's not running 24/7, even if it just runs during majority of the day, the fact that I don't have to muck with it helps. Fortunately, my pool doesn't get much leaves since it's mostly above trees, it's the little pollen and bugs we get this time of year that I'm looking for. In one day, it must've eaten 1,000 bugs. They're so small that it hardly needs to be emptied. I can probably go a full week and not touch this thing. So far it hasn't gotten stuck, and it also completely covers my splash pad area.

I'm really in love of this thing. I hope it holds up to the brutal Texas summer/sun.

Amazon shows a matrix that shows the Plus having the adapter charging and "shallow water bumper". My non-plus came with additional bumpers which per the manual were to be used if you wanted to increase the bumper height. My bumpers are as short as can be and as stated, it can get into my splash pad area without issue, so there's no need for me to have the Plus. Finally, I liked the pure white of the non-plus better than the grey.

At time of shopping, the Plus was $70 more (technically $100, but Amazon had a $30 instant coupon).

I completed a 60 hour inaugural test with no stoppage. It was fully charged via plug in before putting in water, the solar charge it received during the daylight hours was able to keep it moving through 2 evenings. I took it out to run my pressure side cleaner.
Now should I consider a battery operated bottom cleaner?????

DB how shallow is your splash pad? Mine is around 8" deep and I'd hate for it not to be able to get that area (8' x 20').
