Hello everyone,
I'm moving into a new home and embarking on a complete remodel, including upgrading the existing pool setup. The current pool equipment includes a DE filter, an old single-speed pump, an old booster pump for the vacuum, and a single pool light (likely not LED). Notably, there's no automation in place.
My previous home had a newly constructed pool with all Pentair equipment, featuring IntelliTouch, a salt cell, cartridge filter, variable speed pump, and extensive automation, all controlled via my phone. This experience really set my expectations.
For the new pool, which is about 30,000 gallons, I'm looking to make some significant upgrades:
- Replace the DE filter with a cartridge filter
- Switch to a variable speed pump
- Install a salt cell
- Upgrade the pool light to an LED light
- Potentially replace the booster pump (do I even need this?) Home comes with a new vacuum (Polaris 280)
- Add potential control for future landscape lighting
- Explore automation options, particularly those that allow for phone control
Given my background with Pentair and IntelliTouch, I'm inclined towards similar setups. However, I'm open to exploring other reliable brands.
I would greatly appreciate recommendations on:
1. Equipment brands and models that are best suited for a pool of this size.
2. Options for automation systems that offer robust control, especially via phone - that basically are simple: turn on/off pool and landscape lights and turn pump on/off.
3. Any insights into the integration of pool and landscape lighting.
I greatly appreciate any advice. Also, should I buy equipment and find someone to install OR contact a pool company? Again, appreciate the conversation.
