What is everyone using for pool brush and measuring equipment?

I have a bag of this but it has no ingredients listed. Should I use it to increase the calcium?

Update: reading the clorox website the comments state it is calcium chloride.

Yeah, probably don't need the metal measuring cup.
Never use a metal measuring cup around pool chemicals.
If you must have a measuring cup, get a plastic one.

Turn off the bubbler and any other aeration device - no need to run it/them 24/7. The aeration will cause the pH to rise.

And remember, close is close enough. Pool chemistry is not an exact science.

Hmm....the PB told me this will be part of the return, no actuator on that return. I'm ramping down to 1150 rpm when laminars and waterfall are not on and bubbler is about 5-7 inches during those times.

Post a few pics of your equipment pad from a few different angles so we can see your setup.

The bubblers, laminars and waterfall should be set up to be able to be turned off.
These items should be off unless you are actively using them. They should also be run for a few minutes once a week to allow fresh chlorinated water to flow the lines.
Use of anything that aerates the pool water will cause pH to rise.
Keeping the TA in the 50-60 range will minimize this pH rise.

Test/post the pH, TA and CH of your fill water (same water source as your autofill).

What model number is your SWG? Add that info to your signature.

I got the coin but I'm frugal unless I get value for the coin ;-)

Yeah, probably don't need the metal measuring cup. Can use a solo cup I guess. But will take the advise and estimate and just tell PM I added the recommended amount.

May just get the scale. PB bought a Spartan brush, so may just get the pro tuff pole for now.
Seriously, get a plastic measuring cup with a handle. You’ll thank me later 😉
I have one in the pool bucket & one in the hot tub bucket. I only ever need small doses of MA.
Speaking of coin…
You don’t have a pool cleaner listed in your impressive signature…
Btw - we love pics so show us this fantastic pool 😍

The SWG is in the signature already. However, it isn't hooked up as yet since I was waiting for the at least 30-day rule.

CH of fill water is 110 and will check the others. Autofill isn't yet connected as trying to determine if pool has a leak or just evaporation.

When you say actively using them, isn't viewing the water features from inside the house considered actively using? I seriously never would have thought there was a limitation on putting in these features.

You have "SCG: Pentair Intellichlor SWG (new pool, not on yet)"
List the model number - like IC40, IC60, etc.

What is the pH and TA of the fill water?

Do you use a specific bucket and measuring cup? Just realized my 5-gallon paint bucket has a hole.

I tried to get an in-ground pool cleaner but PB wouldn't so it. I asked here and since I have a screen enclosure, a robot was not needed, not looking to have to put in and take out a robot if it doesn't add too much value.

OK, yes....character limit of signature but at least two other places on the profile had asked to select it. Here it is:

Oooh Fancy! 🤩
By bucket I was referring to a large flower pot under my deck where I throw weather resistant pool stuff like the backwash hose, fountain, a little container of de etc. & a decorative bucket under my patio table where I throw my spa stuff, off, & sunscreen.
I don’t use a bucket to mix anything- acid(rare) , bleach (now rare thanks to my new swcg) etc. goes directly into the pool infront of a running return. I brush the area.
Baking soda (rare) , boric acid (once a year or so, & salt get dumped in all over & brushed around. I don’t use calcium chloride so I have no real experience there.
My current measuring cups are these from the illustrious $🌳 I also frequently get them at the Dollar general. Same with the plastic 1 gallon pitchers.

I used to use paint mixing cups (my hubby paints cars & they give them to you for “free”) but they crack quickly/unexpectedly & have no handle so I upgraded 🤣
About the cleaner- If you decide you need/want a robot you can always get one later. Hopefully you do have a manual vac correct? Even with a pool cleaner you should still have that as backup. Getting a good pole you like is a must if you manually vac as well.
Mine is terrible but I live with it because it is lightweight & I really don’t have to use it much. The skimmer & the bot do most of the work for me.

I use a cheap scale from harbor freight to measure out my CYA. I have a 1000mL graduated cylinder that I can hang a sheer knee high stocking in and pour in the CYA using a 2 cup measuring cup that I use to scoop the CYA out of the bag.

If I need to measure any liquids I use a cheap plastic 34 oz measuring cup that I got free from a nurse friend that brings them home from the hospital. They are in a sterilized surgical package that once it's opened, they have to get rid of them. No reusing.
