    Retrofit bonding for existing pool

Yea I had the electrical for the pump replaced when we bought the house. It was previously just on a branch 115v circuit running off the same breaker as the entire master bedroom believe it or not. It had a plugless GFCI wired in under the house that was wired wrong so it didn't even do...

    Retrofit bonding for existing pool

I’ve got 32x16 vinyl liner pool that I’ve established is not bonded. The pool was originally built in the late 60’s or early 70’sI believe and has been upgraded at various times (liner was replaced in 2015), but no one ever did any bonding. As far as metal parts it has two metal ladders, one...

    Locating possible bonding system

Why would this copper pipe that’s a good 20 feet from the pool, on the other side of fence have continuity with the coping and the ladder though? It runs under the concrete deck towards the direction of th pool so I don’t know what else it would have been used for. Also this pool had the liner...

    Locating possible bonding system

So quick update. I got some long wire and connected one end of my continuity tester to the pool coping and the other end to that conduit by the pad and got continuity. So it is connected. Also the coping is connected to my ladder which entends into the pool. So I guess all I need to do is attach...

    Locating possible bonding system

So looking at the code for my county I saw this: http://www.wakegov.com/inspect/permits/pages/poolelecreq.aspx Bonding grid used to bond metal parts together: (680-22(b)) #8 or larger solid copper conductor, insulated, covered or bare Structural reinforcing steel of a concrete pool where...

    Locating possible bonding system

So I got out my continuity tester and stuck one end on my pool ladder and the other a distance away on the coping and got continuity beep. Would this indicate these are bonded together? Obviously they are both connected to the same concrete deck. I have no way of knowing if there is rebar in...

    Locating possible bonding system

We moved into a house a couple of years ago that was built in the 70's, with a pool that was built around that time as well. It's a vinyl liner pool, so the liner has obviously been replaced many times, and plumbing updated at some point. Anyway I couldn't really find any info on a bonding...

    Pool pump tripping GFCI breaker

So this ended up being the pump motor btw. Eventually every time I unhooked everything the breaker would be fine. Hook up the pump it always tripped. So the old single motor has been replaced by a Century v-green 165 variable speed motor and everything is working again. Now I just need to...

    Pool pump tripping GFCI breaker

Ok unwired the timer and the breaker does not trip. So ijust the wires running from the breaker to nothing and it's fine. Hooked the timer back up but unwired the pump from the timer and it doesn't trip. Hook the pump back up and it trips. But I've also gotten it to trip multiple times with just...

    Pool pump tripping GFCI breaker

An electrician did all the wiring I didn't wire it myself. The pump worked fine for a year after they wired it. I went under the house and followed the wire from where it feeds down from the box to all the way through the wall to the pump pad and there is absolutely no damage to the wiring.

    Pool pump tripping GFCI breaker

I have a 1HP Hayward super pump that has begun tripping the GFCI breaker. When I moved into this house a year ago the pump was hooked up as 115v on a off the bedroom outlets. I had an electrician come out and run a dedicated 240v line for the pump, install a timer and put a GFCI breaker in the...

    Doheny Discovery

Yes I bought this caddy: Dolphin Robotic Cleaner Parts | Doheny's Pool Supplies Fast There really isn't a great place for the control box though since it doesn't slide into the back. I fixed that by getting some of that heavy duty waterproof velcro and attaching it to the back of the caddy...

    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Re: Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club Yep. My parents had a bottom loading one with a big mesh bag on their pool. I helped my mom with it a few times when we were over there swimming and that was enough for me. When we bought our new house with a pool those few...
