Cloudy Pool (can see the shallow end)

It worked! Thanks everyone! The pool looks great, it took about 180 gallons of bleach but the SLAM worked like magic! Now I have the pool down to normal levels and it looks great!

Cloudy Pool (can see the shallow end)

Still making progress. FC was at 17.5 and CC 1 today. The CYA in the socks is about half way disolved. The pool cleared up a lot but I saw some dirty spots and brushed them clean which along with the CYA seemed to cloudy up the pool a bit. It feels like we are getting close.

Cloudy Pool (can see the shallow end)

Scuba Steve, It is a little cloudy. So I'll add enough to bring it from 10 to 30 and continue with the SLAM. This morning the FC was 20.5 and CC was 1. So I have some room to move since the chart indicates the FC can now be lower due to my CYA. Thanks for the help, I'll keep you posted.

Cloudy Pool (can see the shallow end)

We actually got the reagent in the mail today. I did the test and it has dropped. My test only goes to 30 so it looks like our CYA is now below 30. The ammonia tests at 0 now too. I'll scale back the FC to match 30 CYA or should I go lower?

Cloudy Pool (can see the shallow end)

I tested the water this morning and the FC was at 0, I bought some more bleach and dumped it in around 11. At 1pm the FC was 15 and the CC was 2. I check for ammonia and the test shows between 0.25 and 0.50. I added 4.6 bottles to the pool to try to get the FC to 24. I am going to keep adding. I...

Cloudy Pool (can see the shallow end)

I just took a reading at 930 pm I show FC at 4.5 and CC at 2.5, I had dumped in 1792 ounces of bleach at 830 pm. I completely out of bleach at the moment so I will have to buy more tomorrow. I have gone through 38 gallons in the last two days. Any idea on how many I should buy for this project?

Cloudy Pool (can see the shallow end)

At 10am I dumped another 12 bottles of clorox into the pool. I am using a K-2006 test kit. When I added the two dippers to the 10ml sample it didn't turn pink indicating no FC. Frustrated I walked away from it and let the sample sit, about an hour later the sample was red. I completed the rest...

Cloudy Pool (can see the shallow end)

Hit a snag already. I added 1536 ounces of clorox bleach around 2 pm this afternoon. I just took a test of the water at 8pm tonight showed NO FC! My CYA tested at 55, could my be chlorine reagent be bad? It was working a month ago but recently it take a lot to show any change in the water color...

By shock I meant I followed the pool calculator on this site to get it to the shock level indicated at the bottom of the calculator. I use a K-2006 Taylor test kit.

Cloudy Pool (can see the shallow end)

I needs some major help. I can see the bottom of the shallow end if no one has been swimming for a day or two, I have never been able to see the bottom of the deep end. We had some CYA issues last year and dumped half of the pool water then refilled it from our well. Below are my current...

thanks I did get the pump discharge off the filter and ran the pump with the end discharging directly into the pool and I had the same issues. I think something is wrong with the pump.

    Pump Overheating and Low Pressure

Chuckiechan, Thanks for the reply, I am getting very little pressure. I made sure both intakes are open. I even blew the lines out to make sure they were open. I removed the coupling where the water leaves the pump. Here is the video of the geyser I get. https://youtu.be/UzPwAOz-U0s The video...
