SOLVED! So I noticed a clicking noise when I pulled on cord from pool side , had my friend over to trace the source & there was another completely different second junction box that feeds to the Jbox switch up on my garage exterior hiding behind my pool filter gear ....unhooked , pulled right...

only about 20-25 ft ....I've been massaging (short powerful tugs back & forth) the cord from the niche in pool end, when I work it back & forth I can hear something over by the Jbox clicking , like a stopper or something ....its a dead stop when it clicks....also I get 0 play when I pull from...

hello - trying to remove my old Pentair pool light fixture (has the 5 star nut) housing with a fish tape ,(old 70's ) the cable seems completely stuck....removed a small nut that is supposed to loosen inside niche...wont budge even when I work it back & forth ....I'll try &the dishwashing fluid...

sooooo, I think my housing is shot, water got in it & getting no power reading on voltage meter ....looking at just replacing with Pentair EC602128 , identical...any better options?

yes...its a very horrible design , hard to get an even clamp down & if you're fixture is bent in any way forget about it ...might as well get a new one....I'm thinking corrosion & water leaking at the power cable entrance to house ...

OF course my local pool store " If water gets in housing , they're done , replace ... :(

I'm thinking about just getting the Pentair gasket & hitting the power cable entry with water proof epoxy before I think about replacing this dinosaur because its really a small amount of water ..

Very old wall niche Pentair fixture . Was in before I bought my home back in 2005 . I replaced the bulb and (out of market) gasket last year with a typical Chinese LED . Worked great all last summer and blew out upon opening this year. I opened it all up to find a slight amount of water is...

reporting back , I'm on top of it now ...I don't remember having to pour in so much Chlorine to get the level to show , but it's maintaining 7.5+ now & clearing ...thanks for the help , on to the pool light leak!

how many Chlorine gallons do you think that is to start off ? Or just keep dumping in tis it registers? ? 20,000 gallon pool ..thanks!

@mknauss - checked Chlorine this morning , all but gone , so the demand is demanding....put in 3 gallons yesterday , all gone...that makes 11 gallons over 2 weeks = gone ....guessing I need to (SLAM) shock the pool continuously until chlorine demand lowers...my question is how much liquid...

very fresh , brand new ...water is slightly murky but not horrible also Im using a Taylor DPD 1& 2 Reagent test in a OTO kit , so I'm just seeing a slight pink presence ...maybe 1PPM

test results almost identical other than I get 0 chlorine level...thanks

Hello ! ok , so I built up the CYA to respectable 20-30ppm and threw in 3.5 gallons of liquid chlorine from my pool store. Put in 3 floating stabilized pucks ...barely a chlorine level...waited a bit 3 more gallons , still nothing went to work on PH...over 2 weeks I added 10lbs of baking soda...

hello @berger , did you add stabilizer / conditioner first? How's your PH level?
