84 in North Texas... no heater, no cover, no shade, and 8 inches of rain this week.

My previous house had a Stainless Steel DE Filter for the pool. When we were buying the house, I had a pool guy come out and inspect everything for me. I remember him telling me "You can't add a salt generator unless you replace that filter... they don't like salt".

When installing my wedding cake steps, i went to Home Depot and bought 2 5 gallon buckets with lids, 2 bags of quickcrete, and a bag of pea gravel. Each bag got a bag of quickcrete and water, mixed a little runny, and then I stirred in pea gravel until I was to the top of the bucket. Waited...

I just finished doing hard lines for my new AGP install with the pump and filter 60 feet from the pool. If you are wanting a long distance like this, you may need to upgrade the pump and filter like I did. You can see my thread on the subject here. For pitures on what the hard line plumbing...

While thinking about deck designs, it occurred to me that you may be able to replace the top rail with deck board to create a seamless transition rather than going over it. A quick peak at my doughboy top rails show that they don't seem to provide any more structural support than a mounted deck...

Day 4 Pictures: After the liner was in, they pumped water back out of the pool into a temp pool while they installed the skimmer. Tomorrow I will install the steps and we go swimming!
