    Best way to mow this?...

Walk behind mulching mowers are just fine, you just have to get a decent one. There is a lot more to it than blade speed, you need proper deck and blade design. We used to sell the Troy built mowers, which were great, before the company sold. I now have a John Deere, an older mower that has an...

    Calling all Canadians!

The Liquid I buy at my local pool store is 12%, according to them. 13 and change for 20 L, IIRC.

THRIPS!!! How to get rid of them???

Response to this old thread, I had Thrips again this year, and again it was after a real large downpour. My wife simply took a cloth and wiped around the perimiter of the pool at the water line where they hang out and they were gone after that. Like cleaning dirt.

    Is the TF 100 essential

Yeah, the one thing we don't seem to get hosed on up here!

    Liner fading from FC?

Update to this thread. This spring upon opening I saw no evidence of fading. (?!?) I don't really know what happened. Kinda embarassing...maybe the liner under water was cleaner or something, I don't know. But I have to conclude that there was no fading after all.

    Pool blaster Volt FX 8

I did buy this thing and would also recommend it. I vacuum every time there is a cup of debris in the deep end, rather than waiting for the whole process of hoses etc to be worth while. I used to just let it build to a small pile before I bothered. 3 hour charge time too, has been my experience...

So why don't I become a supporter you might be thinking. You are right! I just did.

    Is the TF 100 essential

Just checked and the Taylor kits are $320 for the 60 ML bottle reagents, and $185 for the small bottles, going to the most direct supplier we can. I have definately considered buying when I am in the states, but in the meantime, I now have pieced together about half a kit of what I need, and it...

    Is the TF 100 essential

Hey, I'm not criticizing volunteers, who in their right mind would? This site is great and I refer people here all the time. I was pointing out the frustrating position I am in, and how it might be that I would be inclined to declare I'm using the right kit, just to avoid the back and forth...

    Is the TF 100 essential

Yeah, I agree. I appreciate your comment, and how much time you take to educate and respond to so many posts here, so thoroughly. It's truly remarkable. But here's what I notice. Unless you declare you own one of the "suggested test kits", I notice over and over that basically, you will be told...

    Is the TF 100 essential

Not to be contrarion, but as a service to anyone else who may be in my shoes. Since I live in Canada, I can't get the TF100, and I refuse to pay $175 for the Talyor kit on principle (2 years ago price..wonder what it costs now with our dollar?!). And it's not that I can;t afford it. It just...

Will calcium hardness affect a pool heat pump ?

I follow this advise, despite the fact that the manual for my heater suggests 200 ppm min. Why do you think they suggest that?

    Pool blaster Volt FX 8

Just saw this unit in the store (no longer selling the pool blaster max) while I was refilling my CL. I have been on the fence about the pool blaster max, only because of the battery issues I have read about. This is a little more powerful / little bigger, but it's not clear to me if there are...

    Making bulk 12.5%+ more manageable?

I recently started using this, and it's super easy for a syphoning method. Hose with a glass ball on the end you just shake it and it starts to syphon. I fill my 3L containers in about 10 seconds. When I am down to the last 5 or 7L I just pour in with a funnel. Super Syphon - this thing is...

    Liner fading from FC?

That is the pattern of my old liner, which was 12 years old. I woud say it was about 40% (at most) faded. I didn't realize just how dark it used to be until I compared it to a sample when we too kit out (I moved in to he house 3.5 years ago). The new liner is Blue Mosaic.
