Response to this old thread, I had Thrips again this year, and again it was after a real large downpour. My wife simply took a cloth and wiped around the perimiter of the pool at the water line where they hang out and they were gone after that. Like cleaning dirt.

Update to this thread. This spring upon opening I saw no evidence of fading. (?!?) I don't really know what happened. Kinda embarassing...maybe the liner under water was cleaner or something, I don't know. But I have to conclude that there was no fading after all.

I did buy this thing and would also recommend it. I vacuum every time there is a cup of debris in the deep end, rather than waiting for the whole process of hoses etc to be worth while. I used to just let it build to a small pile before I bothered. 3 hour charge time too, has been my experience...

That is the pattern of my old liner, which was 12 years old. I woud say it was about 40% (at most) faded. I didn't realize just how dark it used to be until I compared it to a sample when we too kit out (I moved in to he house 3.5 years ago). The new liner is Blue Mosaic.

That has been my experience. The floater doesn't allow the pucks to dissolve fast enough for vacation purposes. I tried tying it off in front of a jet as well. I resort to leaving the pump running and put them in the skimmer, if I have to use pucks for vacation.
