Hello and just a quick question!

Welcome to TFP! My calc came in right around bama and linen, actually a little higher than linen. I could say I calc'ed at 22 and look like a genius but probably no one would believe me. You should probably take the 22 and 750 as good volume numbers.

Please recommend a good test kit

The K-2006 is very good, but be sure to look at the TF-100 kit (you can find references around TFP).

New pool is full!! Now what?

If you backwash too soon you will just flush the stabilizer out of the filter. Why don't you get a new test today and post it here prior to doing much else. The computer printouts are interesting. They always show a lot of treatments, but they don't really say much about how to administer the...

New pool is full!! Now what?

You should not backwash for at least a week after adding the stabilizer. Work on the TA first to get it under control before you add a lot of other chemicals. You should probably retest before doing much else at this point. Are you running your filter 24 hours?

New pool is full!! Now what?

Yes, if it is new sand in the filter you need to backwash until the water is running clear through the backwash. As for test kits. Order a high quality kit like the TF-100 or k-2006. However, you want to have the pool ready for people in 3 days, so any test kit is better than none. You can buy...

New pool is full!! Now what?

Definitely get a good test kit on order and read through the Pool School. You can have the pool store test for you, but I would also advise that you pick up an inexpensive test kit to use in the interim. The kits at Wal-mart will be good enough to get you started. As RobbieH said get your pH...

Home buyer with questions. (Photos Added)

Re: Home buyer with questions. I have been through this a few times buying homes with stale pool. Unless you have a bit of experience with pool equipment, I would strongly advise getting a professional to check the system prior to just flipping the switch and see if it works.
