    Low water flow in returns

There was no/minimal change when I replaced the cartridges, other than the psi going down somewhat on the gauge (as you’d expect with perfectly clean filters). The flow from the returns might have increased slightly, but not significantly. I do not have a multimeter but could pick one up to...

    Low water flow in returns

Thanks, but the lower flow began last summer, when I still had the old pump.

    Low water flow in returns

I can’t seem to recall the details of the last pump, but the low flow was observed on that pump as well last season (before it died) and has carried over to the new pump.

    Low water flow in returns

Thanks for the reply. I’ll post a picture of the pad in the morning. The skimming is pretty strong when the pump operates at high-ish RPMs, although again I feel like it used to be stronger at the same RPMs. There is air in the pump pot when the pump operates at relatively low RPMs (sub-1800 rpm...

    Low water flow in returns

Hello All, Like so many others, this site and forum have been invaluable resources for me as a relatively new pool owner. This is my fourth season with the pool (came with the house), and I’ve got my chemistry down pretty well. But I do have one issue: This is the second summer I’ve noticed...

    Recurring stains

I sure do! Not sure why I didn’t think of that haha. It doesn’t really look like bird poop but I bet that’s what it is. Thanks!

    Recurring stains

I think it's organic. It disappears after a day or so. I use liquid chlorine to sanitize. No chipping on the stone. It's a weird one.

    Recurring stains

Hello All! Does anyone else get recurring stains like these near the edge of their pool? I usually find them in the morning, they fade after a few days, then they’re back in the same place or someplace else near the edge.

    Stains

Definitely no products with copper since I took over the pool in early May. Only bleach and muriatic acid. But the pool is about 9-10 years old, so who knows before we took ownership. The vitamin C definitely lifted a couple stains completely or nearly completely - two on the steps for...
