So far it's working well. Every couple of cycles I clean out the filters. So much sand and small pebbles caught in the filters. It did manage to rip off one of my eyeball with cover though. Oops! It makes a decent attempt at climbing the stairs but has gotten stuck needing rescue. Overall...

Well the Dolphin came in yesterday with a caddy. Dropped it in, ran a cycle, and then took it out to clean the mesh screens. The amount of junk was incredible. Ill run it today with the filters in. Pool is now cloudy beyond belief. Didn't realize how much stuff my MX8 didn't pick up. Dumb...

Actually, I have some spare bullnose coping from our pool remodel that might work. I'll try that tomorrow before the kids are home.

I used a patio paver to bring the pump up but I'm still a bit short. Probably need to cut a patio paver in half to get an extra half inch of height. I could go find a 1.5 inch paver if that's the route to go. I wasn't sure how frowned upon it was to use shims under a pool pump.

Went from being an easy swap to... First question. How bad is it if I place the pump on some stands? Sloppy I know. If I'm going to re-pipe, might as well do it well. I thought the system was on 2 inch PVC but apparently its 1.5 into the pump and 2 going out to the filter. Thoughts...

Yeah it was hooked to a timer. The romex comes from the timer to the pump. The outside of the pump has a bare wire for ground. With the way this house was wired, I question everything. Ill open up the timer box once I get back. Theoretically, the white could also be a hot but I need to check...
