Yeah, I screwed up the first time and just did the quick test with the five drops. I did the more in depth drop test just about twenty minutes ago. Thanks, @mknauss

Yes, absolutely they were. Headed out for another test now. When I tested after adding the first four gallons of bleach though the chlorine level was sky high. Way higher than I could read. Did I not to the full test necessary to gain that knowledge. I just did the five drops of yellow in the...

The acid is in, the pH has been lowered, and the first four gallons of bleach just went in. Moving forward, how do I test for chlorine at levels well above what my gauge will read? Or will it seriously drop that fast? I can't wait to see it. Secondarily, it just started thunderstorming in St. Louis.

I think I'm about to embark on a SLAM, which should be interesting, but normally by now I've dropped about $300 at the pool store and I leave there knowing that I'm certain to be back. Right now I'm in $92 for a test kit that'll last two years and $7 worth...
