    Recommendation for lighting

Somewhere along the way we lost electric to the flood light in the deep end. Is there any such thing as a battery powered, remote controlled, LED lamp I could simply put in the housing? I don’t guess I need a ton of light from it, seeing as how we’ve been a couple years without any light at all...

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

Yeah, I screwed up the first time and just did the quick test with the five drops. I did the more in depth drop test just about twenty minutes ago. Thanks, @mknauss

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

I didn’t do the chlorine drop test earlier. It was pouring rain. Whoops. Sorry, new guy over here.

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

Yes, absolutely they were. Headed out for another test now. When I tested after adding the first four gallons of bleach though the chlorine level was sky high. Way higher than I could read. Did I not to the full test necessary to gain that knowledge. I just did the five drops of yellow in the...

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

The acid is in, the pH has been lowered, and the first four gallons of bleach just went in. Moving forward, how do I test for chlorine at levels well above what my gauge will read? Or will it seriously drop that fast? I can't wait to see it. Secondarily, it just started thunderstorming in St. Louis.

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

Thanks, @YippeeSkippy, for the welcome. I think I'm about to embark on a SLAM, which should be interesting, but normally by now I've dropped about $300 at the pool store and I leave there knowing that I'm certain to be back. Right now I'm in $92 for a test kit that'll last two years and $7 worth...

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

It’ll take a while to become proficient, but that was easier than I’d made it out to be. Readings and a pic of the pool attached. I bought the app. I’m completely ready, lol. Now what?!? (I fed the in-line chlorinator about four tabs when I opened last week, that’s ALL that’s been done) Thanks...

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

Lol, I did find that already. Do you test in an order? Test one, dump the water, do the next? Does it come with instructions? How often do you perform each test? Thanks again, Marty.

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

So when I've got a handle on this, I won't even fill the feeder with pucks?!? How often do you all test? I'm going to guess my annual chemical cost is (was) $400 for five months of use.

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

Oh, also, @mknauss, can a test kit go bad? Should I plan on using new chemicals and such every year? If so, I probably don't need more than a 50 test kit, right? Thanks.

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

I just opened a few days ago and have done nothing outside of drop a couple tabs in the inline feeder and let it filter. Oh, and vacuum the green sludge from the bottom. I'll order a kit tonight, is there anything you can surmise from the provided information that can get me started? It's not...

Ready to (finally) take control of my pool. PLEASE HELP!

Hi, all. I've been here before several years ago, but only to diagnose a filter issue. Quite honestly, I've always kind of just been happy when the pool was clean and didn't worry too much about it beyond that. The real nuances of pool chemistry didn't concern me too much. So, we've come to...

Rainbow 320 Questions - Bad Seal and Control Valve Placement Question

Well I ended up connecting to the top with a new piece of tubing. That problem is solved. Just need to dial it in now. Back to question 1. What can I do if the seal seems fine but I'm getting some leakage? I don't want to over-tighten it obviously. Thanks.

Rainbow 320 Questions - Bad Seal and Control Valve Placement Question

Hi all. Thanks in advance for your help. Question 1. I am getting a leak from the bottom of the chlorinator, I think from seal "R" in the picture. What can I do to tighten this just a bit more? I've replaced the seal, obviously. Any home remedies? Question 2 might solve question 3, so...

    Where's my leak?

Bumping this back to the top. Water level is high and weir seems to be in good working order. Other suggestions?

    Where's my leak?

I upped the water level just to ensure that wasn't the problem. It's not. I just went out and checked the weir and everything seems to be in good working order. I'm getting a steady flow of maybe 1" of water over the top. I am not seeing any sort of struggle from the drain to gather water...

    Where's my leak?

Valves have been replaced. This post will look a lot like my first, but without any idea where to go next... PROBLEM: - Air in pump basket (& return jets) WHAT I KNOW: - Been running without water loss for two weeks - When I close the skimmer line (main drain line open) the system performs...

    Where's my leak?

Is there any downside to putting additional 90's in to a line? I'm going to have to get creative with #2 to have the center lead to the pump. Might be time to cancel the first purchase and go back to the separate valves...

    Where's my leak?

Thanks Divin Dave. I purchased the Hayward PSV3S and was planning to do exactly as you said, almost. I wasn't planning to put a redundant valve on #1, but I suppose it couldn't hurt, especially since that's the main drain. If something were to go wrong with the 3 way, it sure would be a lot...
