Just installed a Raypak a month ago. Highly recommended! So quiet that I can hardly tell it's running. The gas meter is louder than the heater when it's running, but it's still super-efficient and we were quite surprised how low our gas bill was after running it for a while.

Looks like it's the same price in Southern WI. I checked the Kenosha and Burlington stores (online) and it was listed at $1.77. Price good through the 15th.

Strongly recommend the Raypak. Just replaced my old Laars with one and it's night and day. The old one sounded like a jet taking off. I had to check twice to make sure the Raypak was actually on when I fired it up for the first time.

It wound up only being the Burlington store that had it at that price. I went to a store in Kenosha that had it $3.49 and wasn't sure why. The manager said it was likely another store in Burlington had it at that price so that local Menards was matching the price. :(

Weren't they blaming lack of wind for the reason it turned green in the first place? "There was no wind so the pool was too still and turned green. Now we need no wind and the pool to be still so the pool turns blue."!?!

How much does the size of the gas line matter? We're also looking at a RayPak to replace our existing 250K BTU Laars. We're looking at the 266K RayPak, but I'm not sure if the 400K would work with our existing gas line. I've also seen some talk of a ~333K BTU RayPak. Is that one not sold...

Just closed on our new house with the pool last week. Not moved in yet, but are out there about every other day to test. Previous owners emptied, cleaned and filled it for us. Their PB put tabs in the in-line chlorinator which I left to bring the CYA up with the new water. So glad I found...
