    Buying Home with Pool Issues

Thanks for the reply. My main concern is the pool liner and expected costs associated with getting it replaced and based on the few responses $3,500-4,500 seems reasonable to expect. I can easily swap out the SWG or the pump without major demo expenses. The owner realizes the pool needs work...

    Buying Home with Pool Issues

Hey Everyone, -We are looking at a home with a pool that looks like it will need some significant updating. I currently have a pool, so I understand the headaches that come along with buying a pool. According to the owner, the pool was installed in 2008. I've attached pictures with the...

    Persistent Dead Algae

I'm fairly certain it is fine sand and other particles caught in the filter. I vacuumed the entire pool, turned off the filter and left it overnight. With the pump on it usually results in the problem. After leaving it off overnight, the pool was still crystal clear. Must have a crack in a lateral.

    Persistent Dead Algae

Hard to tell. Mostly along the lines at the bottom of the pool, some in the shallow end, and if theres a little crease in the liner then along that crease

    Persistent Dead Algae

I'll try the sock and see if that changes anything. I did a regular vacuum and it looked great that night. The next morning I came out and it was back as usual. Then I tried to vacuum to waste and the next morning same result. It doesn't really look like mustard algae because it's like lines of...

    Persistent Dead Algae

Moved from here. Looks like I'm having a similar problem. I'm having the same problem with shallow end, slope, and seams and it appears in lines. Does it look like the picture below? I've been slamming for 5 days with no color change, vacuumed it to waste, and it keeps coming back around...

    Green High FC

After 2.5 weeks of being at 1.0-1.25x shock level and no improvement I got desperate and went 2x to see if there was an improvement.

    Green High FC

Has definitely cleared up. Not crystal clear but only a slight tinge of green. Definitely improved. FC is back down to around 22.

    Green High FC

I'll give it a couple of days and see where we stand. We had to do a big drain and refill last year (over 15,000 gallons from previous owners cya levels) but was clear all last year. Our city water tests show 0.12ppm copper and 0.07ppm iron, both below national averages.

    Leslies supershock

Looks like the stuff I got last year at Ollie's. 2.49/gallon 12.5% just make sure the date isn't too old. Had a 15% off coupon too. Dot see it in their ad, but picked up the first week of May last year.

    Robot Comparison

Hi Everyone, I was looking at a used robot vacuum and that fell through so I started looking at new. Which of these would be the best deal and why? I have a 18x36ft 8ft vinyl Grecian hopper style pool with center steps. SharkVac - $615 -...

List it on eBay for parts, auction only and buyer pays shipping. I'm sure someone would buy it for $50.
