    Losing water

Hello! We have a 15k gallon in ground pool with a Hayward sand filter. For the past couple of years it has been losing about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of water a day. We are going to have someone come out and look at it but is there any troubleshooting we can do ourselves first? There are a couple of...

    Automatic chlorine feeder

Hello! Haven’t posted in a long time, have been having great luck with our inground pool. I was wondering if anyone uses an automatic Liquid chlorine (we would use bleach in it) feeder like this: Hasa Pool The Liquidator, 8 Gallon, Standard I am intrigued but not sure how it works. Has anyone...

Sand Filter not reading any pressure

thanks for your reply. The multiport valve is on "filter". I have backwashed successfully and put it back on filter. I don't have a recirculate option on my filter. Is rinse the same as recirculate? I only have filter, backwash, rinse and waste.

Sand Filter not reading any pressure

Hello! I opened my pool today and my pool filter is reading 0 psi pressure. It is a Hayward sand filter on a 20,000 gallon in ground vinyl pool. All jets are working at full pressure, it seems. skimmer has good suction, nothing else seems out of whack. Emptying skimmer and pump basket regularly...

    Low PH eating ALL chlorine?

Thanks! I do wonder if my husband was reading the results of the test correctly and testing as often as he said, to be honest, lol. I was on a work trip and he was in charge of the pool. Maybe it was user error!

    Low PH eating ALL chlorine?

Sorry for delay in update here but I did a SLAM which worked great. However once we started letting the chlorine drift back down it got to around 10 for 3 days and then all of a sudden went from 10 to 0 in 24 hours and we got an algae bloom almost immediately. So I did another SLAM which worked...

Highest chlorine level safe for swimming with CYA 50

I am finishing up a SLAM after doIng citric acid treatment for staining and it’s going very well, seems like it will be done in the next day or so. My question is what chlorine level is safe to swim in? Due to my 50 CYA I had to shock at 20 ppm so it is going to take some time for chlorine level...

    Low PH eating ALL chlorine?

Yes, that is why I think it may be the problem. What will help get the pool to hold chlorine again after citric acid? Is it just a waiting game?

    Low PH eating ALL chlorine?

Just tested CYA yesterday and it is at 50. Not using anything on the non-recommended chemicals list. Just store bought chlorine bleach, chlorine pucks and I used citric acid the other day for staining. I will post all numbers when I get home. My feeling is it is the citric acid that is eating...
