    Pool heater auto flow control?

Thanks so much. I've been living in a near state of panic...afraid I'd forget to shut off the heater and the inside would melt without water.

    Pool heater auto flow control?

I have an in-ground pool with Jandy pump, filter and heater equipment. See equipment in signature below. My pump runs from 8am-4pm. If heater is turned on during that period and set to a temperature it doesn’t reach, right up until 4pm...what will happen when pump automatically stops water...

    Backyard Stereo System Design

Thanks for the feedback. This has all been very helpful. Ultimately, it sounds like I should avoid full time wireless speakers...whether WIFI or bluetooth. Next question...does it significantly matter if speakers are hung at a height of about 10ft vs placed on ground...like rock speakers...

    Backyard Stereo System Design

Thanks for the input. I'm not ruling out wires. All things being equal, I'd rather not dig up part of the yard to run buried cable....although I'll absolutely do that if necessary. My bigger issue was having the flexibility to move the speakers from place to place if I wanted to change around...

    Backyard Stereo System Design

As of now, I'm starting from scratch on my sound system. So, here's the plan: 1. Neighboring houses are close, so I want to have sound facing in toward my house from backyard fence areas. It's not exactly a requirement, but trying to be a good neighbor. 2. Electric runs in loop along my...

Help. First time pool owner in Nassau County, NY.

Hi George....I just had a pool installed and turned to this website for information. I had some initial problems and found it pretty frustrating. I turned to this site and asked all sorts of questions...regarding the green color, the filter pressure, the pump air bubbles, the test results, the...

    Swimming and FC/CYA Levels

Thanks. Is there any danger in swimming right after adding liquid CYA or a slurry of previously solid CYA?

    Swimming and FC/CYA Levels

Ok, thanks. All else is fine...PH, pool clear, TA, etc. so, I guess I need to raise CYA Or lower FC ASAP if kids want to go swimming later today?

    Swimming and FC/CYA Levels

Understanding that CYA provides a "buffer" for the chlorine...are maximum swimmable levels of FC determined based on the total amount of FC or the percentage of FC to CYA? So...if my CYA is 20-30 and my FC is 5.5 (so my FC is 18-27% of CYA)...does that mean the 5.5 of FC is too high and/or will...

    CYA Questions

Thanks everyone. Last question (for now?) and it's tied to CYA again... If my FC is reading 5.5, is that too high if my CYA is still low (maybe 20ish and climbing)? As Jim R wrote...the CYA acts as a buffer for the chlorine. So...if my buffer is very low...is FC too high at 5.5...and when I say...

    CYA Questions

Magvallo, Agreed on the build...we're very happy with quality of the pool....and the employees are all very nice and helpful and seem to care. At the same time, the communication (re scheduling all the way along the way) was lacking. Also, they dumped in double the salt I needed (by...

    CYA Questions

I have a new pool with a fresh fill. Help from this website had been invaluable and I've been adding a little CYA each day. I'm still below 30ppm, but it's been pretty cold and rainy here in NY...so I'm not worried. Regardless, I have some CYA questions and comments and feel like a need a...

    Novice - First Test

Thanks. I've been dissolving the granules in a bucket of warm water. Then pouring the liquid into skimmer. I've been keeping any solids in bucket to mix with more warm water. It's a bit of a pain, but trying to follow the specific instructions and not have them sit un-dissolved in filter.

    Novice - First Test

OK, thanks. FC wasn't moving, so added chlorine neutralizer, which worked well. PH 7.2 FC is down to 5.5. CC <.5 CH 75 TA 50 CYA 20...Trying to slowly get it up to 70 with SWG. Adding more regularly...I keep mixing more in warm water as per directions, but granules don't dissolve well. It's...
