Is there such thing as a top of the water cleaner?

I have used the Pool Devil, Pool Devil Pro and looked into the Pool Skim. Years ago I switched over to the Pool Python. Fantastic skimmer. The Pool Skim and Pool Python are in a similar league. The Pool Devil is fine, but not as good for us, at any rate. The Pool Python | Revolutionary Pool Skimmer

I would if I could!! Not easy now.

    stuck salt cell

There seem to be 9”, 16”, etc...sizes. The salt cell is around 3.5” in diameter with the thing that it screws into ( the nut) adding another inch or so. These are standard fittings I think. The 16” one goes out 5-1/2 inches while the 12” one only 4.5”. So I assume the 16” one would do, even if a...

What size of oil filter pliers to remove salt cell?

I have to remove my Aqua Rite cell to clean it. It is on really tightly. I managed to get one size off with a rubber strap wrench but the other side was stuck and the wrench broke. I am looking for an alternative and someone mentioned oil filter pliers. Does anyone know what size to get? There...

    stuck salt cell

I can’t get one side off and broke a strap wrench trying. What size of oil filter pliers is needed? They seem to come in 9” and larger sizes.

Digging in an AGP, Southern Ontario (Canada)

Did you end up installing an on-ground pool? We have had an oval one, aluminum, half in and half out for around 15 years in Toronto. Been great. There is an on-ground specialist in your area well worth looking in to.

    Pentair CVA 24 Actuator Died

Thanks. So had a new Pentair cv-24T actuator installed to replace the older one. It works but now the Compool lx220 panel does not work on AUTO. It will turn the actuator by moving the switch to ON (and the solar light then comes on) but the moment I switch it to Auto it turns the solar off. The...

    Best SWG to purchase

Why I want a unit that can run at higher salt levels is a personal preference. As I said I had a Zodiac system that ran for over 10 years with no issue and virtually no maintenance. The ending up with too much salt issue was my mistake in relying on the AquaRite's instant reading. I usually...

    Best SWG to purchase

I was focusing on the flexibility of some brands of chlorine generators to continue working despite higher salt concentrations. The phosphates' issue has been discussed in an earlier thread which you might want to read. I would like to point out that I was not alone in finding that reducing...

    Best SWG to purchase

Which salt system allows for a higher concentration of salt? Some will warn you at 4500 ppm while others, such as my Hayward Aqua Rite, stops producing chlorine. I find it really finicky when it comes to that. Been battling it all summer, first with phosphates and now salt. Really at the end of...

    Pentair CVA 24 Actuator Died

My Compool CVA 24 actuator has also .stopped working. The motor seems to be gone. Can I just remove the actuator and replace it with the Jandy model? Will the temperature sensors still work? What about the Hayward model of a similar product? Am a bit confused as to what is compatible with what...

Simple programming of a Hayward VSP

Well Hayward contacted me with a very simple solution that seems to work. You set two timers T8 and T1. T1 has the highest priority and will override lower priority timers such as T8 so one way is to have T2—>T7 OFF and set T1: 7:00AM—>6:45pm @speed A T8: 12midnight—> 11:45pm @speed B speed A...

Simple programming of a Hayward VSP

Even if I didn't run the pump 24/7 I would have to have the timer start the pump. I am still using the solar and heat pump which is why I'd like to run things 24/7. The 1350 rpm provides enough flow for the swg and solar while the 950 is enough when the solar is off. The electrical cost of the...

Simple programming of a Hayward VSP

I just had a .85 HP Hayward Super Pump VSP (115v) installed. It has 4 preprogrammed speeds as well as a timer capability. I want to use 2 speeds. 950rpm for 12 hours and 1350rpm for 12 hours. This means you have to set up two timers. Does anyone have a simple explanation of how to do this? So...

Not generating Chlorine due to high phosphates

Maybe. I hope you are right. Scientific evidence ( basically replicated results under identical conditions or the use of randomization to compensate for possibly non identical conditions) is rare and impossible for so many situations. Mind you, water conditions should be one area where properly...
