Is 30 PSI normal for filter?

Thanks for your continued support/follow ups, Jim. Hayard Navigator vac, here...

Is 30 PSI normal for filter?

Pressure at end of hose is ideal- right in the middle of the plunger between the min and the max. The vac dos not move. I feed up the flow with your help, but still, the vac dosnt move. How long do there Hayward vacs last? So many parts, who knows what it needs.......

Is 30 PSI normal for filter?

OK, I didnt think of that, I should place that psi tested at the end of the hoses...........

Is 30 PSI normal for filter?

Wow, I never knew that! Glad you were able to pull up my past thread/picture! The cartridge is Hayward C2100 Star-clear plus (does that help identify the housing?). But if this is not the ideal size, why did the vac work great for 2 years (new 2 years ago) until now? Something that happened NOW...

Is 30 PSI normal for filter?

Thanks, Jim! That is a great tip! Time to clean/spray the pleated filter, and then take some readings of psi! (Filter is kinda new- about 5-6 months. The pool service is supposed to clean it once a month, they say).

Is 30 PSI normal for filter?

People, I installed a new psi guage and psi on the cartridge filter housing shows 30 psi with pump running. Thing is, the pressure at the inlet pipe on the pool wall barely registers "MINIMUM" level (plunger type plastic guage). Pool Vac doesnt even move. I even shut of the pool floor drain...

Pump will not draw pool water

It took me a while (pump/pool stayed with no pumping for 2 weeks) but I finally found the culprit. It was the tint black plug at the base of the basket! I never figured this could be it! Apparently it kept sucking air through that old/rotted plug and thats why it would lose the initial blast of...

Pump will not draw pool water

Equipment/pump/filter/system is not lower than the pool. (I did check the one way valve, and it had minimal debris). Maybe I will brush soap bubbles onto the suction lines, to search for a leak (?). Good tip on not to snake.

Pump will not draw pool water

There are no shut off valves for returns to the pool, just shut off valves (in photo) going into the pump. Intakes are full of water- no air as the water level is above the skimmer opening. There is only ONE skimmer. I am now becoming less optimistic, despite all the help from members here.

Pump will not draw pool water

WEll, I got home in daylight today, and unscrewed the release valve at top of cartridge filter housing, and started pump, got the "air hissss". Then water started seeping out so I closed it. Pump ran , no luck. Same result. Then, I removed the cartridge pleated filter, and did itv again. No...

Pump will not draw pool water

Thanks, Sande (and dura). Such good tips to follow through. We are getting close! I will try these steps Saturday, on my day of, and let your know. Unless I get home early this week, in which case I will try out sooner! Will send other photos if possible too.

Pump will not draw pool water

Photo attached. Also, I noticed that when the pump is on and pressure apparently builds up the psi guage on the filter doesnt even rise, stays at zero.
