    CYA.......and others

Wow they really heat up eh? I put in 8kg this time. I'll test later. Came as very white flakes. I was told it's 77% concentration. I have no clue what the 23% is. I hope it's nothing bad. 2nd part tomorrow to get it to 260.

Guys, I called a place and I was asked if the calcium chloride I wanted was "industrial" or "medical" grade. I'm assuming it's industrial. Correct? They are both white. Medical grade is 10x more money.

Weird. I'm almost certain I didn't see calcium chloride there earlier on my Mac. But now I see it on my iPhone. Myb it's just temporary blindness. Thanks actually I do look at poolmath (awesome resource) but I just didn't see it earlier. Thanks.

ok. i'll look for that CaCl2—17kg of it. Will that affect the other numbers?

sorry Texas, that was meant to be FC (not CL). Revised! CC is most often 0 or 0.5 (less often) for me. CH to 260: wouldn't that much calcium (15 kg) also make my water cloudy? do i really need to hit that 260 mark? Thanks.

PH: 7.8 TA: 80 CYA: 45 FC: 5.5 Clarity: Quite clear. I can see the screw head and its orientation no problem. The pool is only 4' deep though. I'll post a photo when I get home.

sorry i didn't get a chance to test the others. very busy. the coin is definitely readable at the bottom but the pool is only 4' deep. yeah when I was adding the MA it's only a little off the ideal PH and our MA has no concentration on the label. I had to pull teeth just to get the Cl...

will do a CYA, TA, PH test this weekend and post.... pool & tap water. When I was adding CYA I thought my PH was going to drop big time (due to PoolMath) so I ended up putting Borax in the water. Apparently it's not so and I may have affected the buffering of the pool. I'm not sure how to...

Thanks Matt. So what do you recommend I do—I have some borates but not high. I've added very little. I don't want to keep adding MA. I guess the pool designer should have thought about that.... but they aren't as technical as you guys. In fact by now I probably know more about pool chemistry...

If rain is considered as aeration then I guess the water going over to the overflow wall would be considered the same? so the more aeration, the more I would have to add MA? Any ways around that? CYA.......and others - Page 2

That's what I was thinking too. At night seems better coz they get to stay in the water longer without the sun doing its thing. So this morning it was 5.5 FC after I added Cl and tonight it's down to 4 ppm. 1.5 gone from the sun and whatever like leaves and stuff. I added another 60 oz. I'll...
