Unfortunately here in small town IN we have very minimal choices in the pool maintenance department right now ... I'm buying what I can find.

Can anyone tell me how to calculate? how much to use for maintenance? Granule Shock says 55% chlorine (stabilized) /lb Liquid is 10%/gallon I was going to bring my FC down and trial and error to see how much I need to use but 2nd thought is "that's super wasteful and time consuming" TIA!

I'm guessing it's a 40k pool - Free Form & 10 Feet Deep - No CLUE how to even measure it's gallons.

So we are a chlorine pool currently ... We are thinking of switching to an SWG to take the headache out for me. I've been told by a fellow pool owner that yes it isn't expensive up front for the equipment but after that the only thing I have to buy is annual salt and then MA if my PH spikes...

We can't drain our pool bc our water table is too high and it will heave out of the ground. We're also on a well so we don't have a water meter LOL!

In his defense, he doesn't get in the pool or sit next to it. He works outside so has ZERO interest in being outside anymore than he has to be lol But thanks for the support! LOL

Just had a thought brought to light from another thread. I've been advised to add a sock to my skimmer to keep the stupid helicopters out of my impeller. How they're making it to the impeller after passing 2 baskets is beyond me but also irrelevant for this post LOL! My secondary skimmer...

They sink once they get past the first skimmer and get sucked in through the main drain, I think? Honestly, not sure how they get in there because they go through 2 baskets before hitting the impeller .... Interesting. I'll add a sock to help with that issue, thanks!
