20 year old pool, valve handles are breaking in half, and modern replacements are 90 degrees off.

I always wondered why my valves have a union on only one side. Could I have been lubing them, all this time?

My ball valves become more and more difficult to operate every year. How do they fail? Do they eventually become stuck?

20 year old pool, valve handles are breaking in half, and modern replacements are 90 degrees off.

Why did the industry suddenly turn 90 degrees? And how am I the only one with this problem?

My handles are breaking after 20 years in the sun: And the flat spot of modern handles are off by 90 degrees. Anyone got a source for old style valve handles? Thanks in advance. I want "ON" to be in line with the pipe valve, not looking closed when open. Rich

Is my pump going or bad impeller?

I leave the skimmer basket in place when I vacuum. The pump basket had little debris in it. That junk may have come from some time ago. Pool guy commented on how weak my jets were, which I have also noticed for a few months, but its been winter, so did not pay it much mind.

Is my pump going or bad impeller?

Well, I changed the spider valve on the sand filter, and I still have the bubbles. I also tried the trick of pouring water from an open house on each joint to no avail. Having a pool guy stop by tomorrow.

SWG is Compupool, the clear one. You can see about to where it is able to fill, even now when it is off.

Is my pump going or bad impeller?

Yup, spider valve is shot: Only 1 of the "legs" still has its raised center line...all others are flat. Does this make sense, or do I have more problems?
