Pool is only 6 months old

Before I attempted to suck it out I couldn't put my finger into the hole at all. After I could stick my finger all the way down as far as it would go.. If I did suck out a plug or screen what would happen worse case scenario.

I think i sucked the plug out of the second hole. Is this an issue until i find a new plug?

There does seem to be alot of air under the pump lid. I inspected lid and o ring and didnt see and issue. I have ordered a new o ring and will try that when it gets here. Its weird that this was not an issue until the SWG install. Thanks
