Heater does not shut off normally

Moved from here. I'm having the same issue and may have reversed the high and low speed wires on the new 4 HP pump I installed. So just reversing the speed 1 and 2 solved your issue?

    Balboa VS500Z Heater Flow Issues

I installed the Balboa VS500Z pack from Spaguts.com in April 2017. This weekend the control panel started registering code HL (Difference between temperature sensors and a possible flow problem) and eventually LF (persistent Low flow problems) The heater shuts off and the temperature drops...

    Balboa Board and Overheating

No I don't work for Spaguts, just find myself back to them when the tech was charging me $400 more for the spa pack then they do. A good resource. My GFCI is replaced and I'll put the new pack in this week and see if that works. Still wondering if anyone has ever experienced that type of...

    Balboa Board and Overheating

Greetings. This is my second spa and the first time I've even encountered this situation. My spa is running a Balboa PVS500Z control pak/heater and a few weeks ago the spa was going way beyond the heater set point. As in the spa was hitting 108 degrees plus. Nothing I tried would cool it down...

I am not able to test and adjust but 1 time a day. Except on Saturday. Thanks for the recommendation on testing quickly. I will do that now. Is the 871 power a heaping scoop?

    Starting again

3 days after the SLAM the pool is looking blue, but still a little cloudy. I can say it has improved hour by hour! Due to my work schedule I literally only see it first thing in the morning. (the difference between yesterday at 7 am and today is remarkable) I took sample of the water and will...

Yal are life savers! So for whatever reason, my Free Chlorine is still testing 0 (Not turning pink at all when I put the r-08070 2 dippers in) *are the dippers smooth to the top or possibly overfilled? Just want to make sure I am not messing that test up So FC=0 PH is not 7.4 (way better)...

I will give that a shot and report back! Thanks PS, does anyone know how to turn on E-mail notifications for posts that are responded to. I looked and cannot seem to find it, thus it takes me looking on here to see a response. Thanks to everyone, lots of helpful folks on here!

Nope I drained the pool and only just started back working on it this weekend. How would I calculate how much baking soda to add if I don't even have a measurable reading on the test? 14,700 gallon pool. Do I assume it is starting at 4.5 or below as Texas Splash recommended?

    Starting again

So when I came to the forum and tested the water it was WAY off. So I drained about 70% of the water and it is filled back up thanks to some monsoon like storms and my well. So I am back testing the water and have some issues. FC=0 CYA=50 PH= SUPER LOW like a yellow. So I am guessing 6.6...

Test kit in, Can't believe my readings

So I just finished all the tests and checked them twice. I may need to stop and drain much of the pool due to the CYA being 120 PPM! According to pool math I need to replace 67% of the water in the pool! Which means to me, obviously everything will need to be retested after I do that. Right...

Test kit in, Can't believe my readings

So I have been reading as much on here as I can, but some of what I just tested on my water leaves me scratching my head. 14,700 gallon vinyl above ground. For 3 years I opened with pool store recs and ran a salt generator with no problem. Last year it went to pot. Pool is green but vacuumed...
