Custom PVC Pipe Adapter for Intex Pools

It sounds like your pump problems are being caused by you not (completely) filling the hose with water before connecting it to your pump intake side. Once it pulls in that air from the hose, as you have noticed, it's not doing squat until you restart the pump. Try to fill the hose first and see...

    Ground cover

We used 4mil black plastic under ours, but we did put down two layers of it, in addition to the blue intex tarp. It's only been up for a month or so, so I can't speak for long term success. I guess it would depend on what sort of ground you are putting it on and how smooth or rough it is. Also...

    intex ultra frame pool 18x52

I noticed the legs on mine tended to slide out when I barely lifted up on the top rail by the leg. Maybe your's is willing to do the same?

    Intex Sand Filter Timer

If it operates in the same manner as the Intex 635t Cartridge pump, it will run for 4 hours, then off until about the same time the next day, then run for 4 hours again, and so on. 4 hours each day, starting about the same time each day as you started it the first day.

NOOB Pool and deck almost complete.***DONE***FREE PIZZA*****

Re: NOOB Pool Not Level. What should I do? You can do it! Do yourself a favor and build a super simple bucket water level before you do any more leveling. I know a lot of people use the 4' level on a piece of wood method, and that gets things close but not exact. The bucket level is very easy...

My version of home-made solar water heater

That all makes good sense. I hadn't even thought of the trapped air problem. The DIYer inside me wants to be some of these, but at the prices on eBay and Doheny's, it's almost not worth the time to build it myself.

My version of home-made solar water heater

Quick question regarding using parallel tubes: How do you prevent water from flowing more through one or a few of the tubes, rather than evenly (or almost evenly) through all of the parallel tubes... without using any valves? I had initially pictured using 1/4" tubing connected to "manifolds"...

My version of home-made solar water heater

So it appears as though I didn't do enough research before trying to throw some black tubing on the roof to heat my pool water. :) Since then, I've determined that the 1/2" tubing I'm using (actually .7" outer) provides about 5.83 sq. ft. per 100 ft. section. At Lowe's, 100 ft. tubing is $14...

Timer for Intex Pump (w/ gfci)

Seems to be a common problem. If you're handy, check out the following thread to see their solution. Basically, cut off the gfci plug with some cable left on it, add a female plug to the gfci cable, and add a male plug to the pump side cable, then put the timer in between so the gfci is always...

    intex ultra frame pool 18x52

For the fountain, you'll need to make PVC adapters to get out of using intex parts. Then you can build the fountain any way you like. This thread is great for making the PVC adapters, and on the last page, currently page 6, there are two cool fountains, so take your pick and customize it for...

    intex ultra frame pool 18x52

The legs on my 16' ultra frame touch the liner, even push in on it a little bit. Seems normal... Like it was mentioned, the leg touches the liner until just above the white strap, then there is a gap. Legs are straight up and down, no bending anywhere.

My version of home-made solar water heater

I know it seems silly to have to have a pool heater in Louisiana, but our ABG pool seems to be stuck at about 76-78 degrees, which is just a little too chilly for comfort. I'm sure when day time temps get into mid- to high-90's, water temp won't be a problem. Until then, we decided to try to...

    Flying ants?

Same problem here in north Louisiana. We noticed after a quick rain a couple days ago, the ants would fall out of the trees when a nice little gust of wind would blow by. I'm not aware of any way to prevent this though, other than keeping the pool cover on while not in use. Maybe keep the...

Uneven AGP ladder due to boardwalk

Thanks for all the good ideas everybody. The problem with cutting the pipe at the coupling was two-fold: The pipe would have had to be cut right at the next lower step, so I would have lost a step and had a larger-than-normal gap between steps. Also, the clips holding the coupling together are...

Custom PVC Pipe Adapter for Intex Pools

Has anybody tried the modified fittings on these twist-plunge valves? These are the valves included with our new Ultra Frame pool. It has this "nub" that sticks out of the valve where the hose slides on and seals via the o-ring. The nut itself has no seal, as it is just used to hold the hose...
