Thanks for the reply. Do you mean adjusting the return valves to the pool such that less goes to them and more to the seat? I tried turning that knob but I have to use a pair of channel locks to even move it. Since I can't see what is under it I am afraid wrenching on it too much might break...

Wanted to update everyone. The pool is crystal clear now. Had to keep shocking it into submission and was adding DE to the sand filter and that did the trick. Couldn't have done it without the plethora of knowledge on this site!

I will try that ASAP. I have been backwashing regularly. I opened up the sand filter and checked the sand level, for dirtiness, clumping and channeling. All was good. Thanks!
