    reappearing algae

Hi everyone. I am in year 4 of this process and it has worked fantastically thanks to this forum. This year we went away for a week and my neighbor did not keep up they way I asked. I had cloudy water and algae on the bottom on sides. I have been slamming for 3 days now and water was totally...

    Agae with CC=0 ??

Wow great responses!!! Yes I am brushing. I am glad to know it is normal. I guess I let my guard down and let FC drop a bit. Is 4-60 CYA aok for an IG pool exposed to 12 hours of sunlight?? Seems when it was 40 ish I used approximately .75 gallons per day to maintain but the 2 inches of rain...

    Agae with CC=0 ??

ok What am I missing. Everything going great this year until 2 inches of rain in a day somehow threw me off. I noticed some green on the bottom so figured I was slacking a bit so brought out the official test kit (haven't needed it in a while since I was on a roll) Here is where I got confused...

How to bleed Air out of lines

ok some pics attached. I did not use the silicon lube on the pump lid but there are no leaks. My pool was installed last summer so I figured it was aok. If that had a leak wouldn't I see water coming out?? I can easily buy some and put it on. I did not think of that. All unions and connections...

How to bleed Air out of lines

Hi Pool Opened crystal clear thanks to this site. :) So when I closed I completely drained everything including my sand filter tank and blew out lines. Put all plumbing back together and no leaks or cracked pipes. I used gizzmo's. They are awesome. So as I starting running the pump I tried to...

    Pool closing-skimmer gizmo

Why/How did the gizzmo come out?? My gizzmo screws into the bottom of the skimmer. Is there more than one type?

    First pool closing questions

What I mean by using cap on the gizzmo is the following. I did all of this last night: 1) I put the gizzmos in both returns (threaded with teflon tape) 2) I took the top cap of the gizzmos off 3) I have a valve near the pup that isolates one return for vacuuming so I turned it to block off a...

    First pool closing questions

Thanks Chris I plan on using a shop vac to blow out the lines. I can isolate one return by turning a valve then using the cap on the gizzmo to blow out the other. First time doing this so I am hoping it works. Returns are the same approach using the return covers that allow water only one way...
