My HP did have a freon leak and due to its age and condition, I just pulled it out and will replace it someday....maybe. Only used it twice in the past 18 months so averaging my cost per use for a new unit is very high. lol

Update: I removed the heat pump yesterday and today the water is 98% oil free. I didn't see any obvious issues with the heat pump as I tore it completely apart, but it's the only thing that's different today.

I am going to cut the heat pump out this evening and re-plumb it. I can't think of anything else.

No lawn/tree treatments (ever). No kids and it's only me that swims. I keep my pool deck spotless (to the point of obsession). I'm in Florida and pool is also caged.

Yes, the SWG was operating at 2600. After adding the 20 lbs, it switched to "High Salt" and shut off. 2 Hours later it was back on and my reading was 3200 (via test kit and SWG display). I have turned the SWG off and will continue to monitor the FC levels. Thanks for your help!

If I am reading some of the forum threads correctly, I can use Clorox liquid (Clorox Performance Bleach 121 oz. bottle) to increase my chlorine level.....correct? If something else is recommended, please let me know.
