The air relief has no external leaks. This is only for manual operation correct? Nothing to do with normal ops? Gauge is good. Still puzzled that the only thing I did is remove that screen and pressure changes?

Yup, exactly. Time for new filters. But what is the screen in between the filters? That’s what affected the system from no pressure to high. Nothing else was messed with

Took this off and full pressure, actually too high now at 30psi. What does it do? Was a little dirty but have seen it worse over the years.

I should have full pressure on top of filter housing since it’s before the filters right?

Removed the motor/pump from housing and ran a thin screwdriver through all vanes of impeller

Yes, checked impeller for clogs. Cartridge filters. Filters just cleaned, but that always presents a high pressure condition when they’re dirty. Opening valve on top of filter housing is just a dribble of water.

Have a 20yo Pentair whisperflo that has almost zero pressure. Changed strainer oring. No difference switching valves. Impeller looks good. Poored water on valves and connections. All no change. Any ideas?

Update. Got all the lines fixed. Started system back up and same pressure; 4 psi. Measured each leg of motor at 8 amps; all good there. So, removed all filters and started it back up; about 15 psi. A start! Inspected everything and found the o-ring at the bottom of filter "cross" that the...

Thanks all. As seen in pic, I removed the pressure line from pump to filter and it’s all clear. But, broke the coupling nut putting it back together, Grrrrr. So to HD later and then I’ll check amp draw on motor. It didn’t sound like it was slower or struggling. Also some pics of the system...
