It's been a while since I've posted. I have some brown stains in my pool that will rub off with my hand but not with VIGOROUS scrubbing with nylon brush. Stains are also completely eliminated with vitamin c tablet. Passed 3 OCLT tests and pool is clear. Any ideas? Would a (light) iron stain...

3e1104. Leslies tested cell today and said it's fine. Took it back and recalibrated. It's still generating 7 hours later. I think it's on it's way out but I dont know if I need to get the board looked at too.

Hi 2 weeks ago my FC was 5.5 and chlorine was generating from salt cell. Now the differential between taylor salt test and swg is 3400 vs 2100. Per manual, it stops generating at 2400. Do I need salt? If so what reading do I trust? Also the cell is clean and no build up. Approx 5 years old...

thats my fault. it tested darker than the highest number on the kit so i put 9. it may be above that, but ive got plenty of acid to bring it down to slam. couple last qs. is 2 hours enough time after adding acid to get a proper reading (pump on)? does the algae have any effect on giving me a...

Thanks very much, I've collected all of the supplies needed for SLAM and will start this evening. Any ideas what specifically could've caused the outbreak based on info above? Would heavy rain be enough? Just trying to avoid this again this summer.

Haven't checked in for a while as pool has been sparkly and clean.. Went on vacation last week and came back to yellow algae on walls in shaded end. There's been a ton of rain here too so that's compounded the problem, I'm sure. Do I need to slam? Is it possible it'd go away without doing that...
