Solar Blanket: Which one works best.

I use a clear deck in ground cover roller. My cover was used from 2012 and is getting a bit brittle at the lead edges. (6 seasons of use!) It seemed to age much more this year as I upped the free chlorine level. I believe lower free chlorine and the great protection of the in ground reel...

    Skim a round

I have been using a pool skim (think this is my 3rd season) it works really well, especially if my water level is above my skimmer after a hard rain. I have a variable pump and it works reasonably well on low flows, but obviously better with higher.

troubleshoot Easytouch 8, solar and intelliflo and screenlogic problems

Ok... So I won't back out, and RE-swapped the new motherboard in after shutting all the breakers and waiting 2 min. I undid all the comport wires and moved the screen logic com port wires over to the swg motherboard. Buttoned everything up and turned it on. The swg is now reporting in the...

troubleshoot Easytouch 8, solar and intelliflo and screenlogic problems

I have mis spoke. Power from the breaker does go direct to pump. The swg has wires connected to the filter pump relay Also I confirmed 16 volts on the com port and all 3 com ports on the swg Also confirmed 30v on solar valve which switches pins when solar is disengaged Somehow the...

troubleshoot Easytouch 8, solar and intelliflo and screenlogic problems

Ok. I'm hunting down a multi meter. In the mean time, perhaps I need to do a reset and reprogram. Im baffled by the easy touch logic. Can someone point me to a summary of programing pentair easy touch for idiots? I he the pump on auxiliary 1, intellibrite on 2. Swg breaker hooked to pump...

troubleshoot Easytouch 8, solar and intelliflo and screenlogic problems

Thanks for the responses so far, guys. Updates: I disconnected all wires from the com port and just tried the intelliflo. No change. its not communicating. I pulled the drive off, pulled the cover, disconnected all the wire leads I could (I couldn't tear it down too far...it appears to be...

troubleshoot Easytouch 8, solar and intelliflo and screenlogic problems

Thanks, Jim Good ideas. I can say, the pump does operate as a stand alone unit using the pump control panel and scheduling abilities, which are a God-send while I figure this out. I will do as you suggest and try them 1 at a time in the com ports. I will say, the ET comes with a poor method...

troubleshoot Easytouch 8, solar and intelliflo and screenlogic problems

Ok, I have had issues with COM errors with an intellichlor in the past and Pentair was kind enough to send me a new motherboard, so I have swapped them back and forth a few times and am stumped and need help trouble shooting. I cleaned the contacts to the intellichlor daughter board, so that...

Intelliflo VF 011012 vs. VS 011012

I did the same... Vs plus a flow meter. I have been caught a few times.... Being an energy natzi , I set the filter and solar speeds close to their minimum operating speeds when the filters were relatively fresh. (I have an easy touch). I have gone away for a few days and come back to algae...

    Solar system btu output huge!

So when the air and water temps are close and its sunny, one would get more solar gains to the pool with the cover on rather than off? I didn't think that much solar radiation would penetrate the cover, I know it prevents massive heat loss through evaporation, however. Thx again Sent from my...

    Solar system btu output huge!

Thanks mas985. The pool is 38x20 and clear of shadows 90% of the day this time of year. This is south western Ontario for reference. Anyway, just thought I would share my pleasure. I am considering a 200k but gas heater for night swims and when the sun doesn't play nice. Sent from my...

    Solar system btu output huge!

So I have had my pool for about 3yrs...and have had 11 techno Solis 4x12 mats (2" header) since the beginning. The past week the sun has been quite anemic, but the last 2 days have been phenomenal. The pool went from 64 to 72 yesterday and then from 71 to 79 today. Clear skies, 75 to 80 deg...
