    MOVING a pool?

Trim some trees? Move the house? With this kind of advice, you kind folks better head over here to help! :-D Part of the trouble is that the adjacent lot is a forest (the south and west side). No cutting down gonna happen! It hurts my head to figure out why the previous owners put the pool...

    MOVING a pool?

OK, just an idea we're kicking around... We inherited the pool with the house, and realized after a while that the original owners put the pool on the shadiest part of the yard. We're thinking about the feasibility of MOVING it to the other side where there is much more sun. Currently, we use...

Is this ok for my new mesh cover?

Cool. (I haven't dared look under the cover yet.) One of the lessons I've learned with this kind of cover is to be sure to have the cover tight. (I still don't understand why this type of cover recommends NOT to use a pillow underneath. Anyone have an explanation on that one?)

Is this ok for my new mesh cover?

Ok, thanks. Good to know. To be safe, though, I *did* pump off the excess, then cleaned the debris off the cover. I figure there will be much more rain to contend with by the time May rolls around.

Is this ok for my new mesh cover?

Interesting, Cheryl. First -- and maybe most importantly -- we may have our terminology askew. Your "mesh cover" looks VERY different than mine. Yours looks like "mesh." Mine looks like a solid cover, but isn't. (See picture in first post.) `Are these the same thing? Second -- an update...

Is this ok for my new mesh cover?

An update: The big leaf drop has passed, and we've had 50+ inches of snow, and multiple ices/thaws. (I was concerned about the cover blowing off, since it just sits on the water, but despite some billowing, no problems. The cover is just fine. No pillow needed. As one poster mentioned, the...

Is this ok for my new mesh cover?

It's a mesh cover, so that water *is* the pool water. The cover is sort of sitting *in* it.

Is this ok for my new mesh cover?

My new micro-mesh cover is sinking into the pool water. (I thought it was supposed to sort of *sit* on the water.) I'm worried that when it freezes, it will damage the cover. There are no leaves on the cover, and the cable is tied tightly around the cover perimeter. Any thoughts...

    Which kind of AG cover?

No takers at all? Has anyone used a mesh winter cover?

    Which kind of AG cover?

I'm considering either a solid cover or a mesh cover for my AG pool. My conditions: * moderate-hard winters * LEAVES! Oh so many leaves! * Rainy springs * Many animals and birds using the cover as a toilet/bath in spring (* water supply is not expensive here) Equipment: * a tiny cover pump...

Hijack away. I'm learning right along with you.

What if my CYA is low?

What effect , if any, will it have on my water? Can I just go all season without it?

    Storing Chemicals

Will my leftover chemicals make it through a northeast winter? (temps or the 9 months -- stored in outdoor shed)

    Wrong wire size on pump?

I already posted that my new Hayward pump had a "blade" style plug instead of the twist lock. So, I was going to replace the plug end as advised. When I cut it off, I realized that the new pump's cord is 16 AWG wire. (The pump is a 1.5 HP, 12 amp; the receptacle is 20amp; the OLD pump was...
