http://Pool steps were full of dirt when they let water go, that's why water is dirty. They are going to clean it all out and replace all the sand in the filter. This so far this is the only problem I have had with there work.

WOW! SO cool and fast!

The rebar for the deck--------it should be off the ground so that it is in the middle of the pour. They have spacers that fit under it to hold it up. Do NOT allow them to just "pick it up" as they pour.

I love your liner!!! It's beautiful - gorgeous! One quick look and they could have cleaned up the steps first - so simple. But like you said, if this is the only thing to criticize, that's amazing!

BTW.... I've had trouble all morning with Photo Bucket, so maybe there is something going on with the site. I finally shut down my computer and then started it later. I don't know if that's what helped or if it was the time passed, but Photo Bucket began to open and load better.

Unions on the filter lines? I don't really know what that means. I guess I'm anal about stuff, I don't want that mud coming through the brand new sand because of there carelessness.

I didn't know if that was their decision or your request. If all you ever ask of them is a sand change, they should be pretty happy. If that's your biggest problem with the build, you should be pretty happy. Win-win. They put a union on the suction side of your pump. They didn't put any on the top side of the sand filter where you could take the top off to inspect or deep clean the sand. When they cut those lines to take the top off to replace the sand, have them use unions to put the lines back together instead of glueing couplings, that way you can take it off later without it being a hassle. Aloha did my pool, and did the same thing with mine. There are a couple things about my pool that upset me, but I'm not sure if they were dumb decisions on Aloha's part, or the previous owner being cheap or something. Did you have a pool light put in?

I've used some stuff called greased lightening to get used motor oil off a driveway. Should work good for diesel fuel too. Had to scrub it a little with one of those stiff bristle pole brushes.

Aloha did put my pool in! So far all has been very good. I will ask about the union, Thanks!

Now for another question, it will be tomorrow before inspector gets here to inspect electric and bonding, and then not sure how long after that Aloha will come clean the pool and add chemicals, and change sand. Should I be doing anything to the water now, I don't want to void any warranties. Should I start a thread about this???

Ask them what's included in their start up chemical wise, and what your warranty parameters. Not really anything that you can damage by following tfp, but some pool builders are picky. I doubt they will be hard to get along with. I can promise you that your liner will look worlds better than mine does after 7 years. We bought our house last summer. There is fading all around the pool, and some in be shallow end, because the silly previous owner just sprinkled in granulated shock and let it burn all the pretty color out of the liner. There are a couple places where it's just solid white. That's a chunk of change for another year though. It is in good shape otherwise.

I would also ask that they put valves so you can close off the water coming from and to the pool. That will also help when you want to work on the requirement.
