Please Help-Green, Hazy Water and Zero Free Chlorine since 5/18/15 =-(

The water is definately looking better than when you first posted. If you have already left for work, when you get home use pool math to find put how much stabilizer in a sock to get to a CYA of 30 and set it in the top of the skimmer to disolve. Remember to leave your filter running with it I there.

Just for some encouragement. I was also thinking about draining my pool. I was worried that I had no idea how much stuff was in the pool since it hadn't been opened in over three years.
Well, I just followed the methods here and it cleaned up nicely and is staying there with a little bit of maintenance.
When they say Trouble Free they aren't kidding. It's so easy. My pool was 10 times worse than yours is and it is crystal clear now. Don't fret, stick with it, follow the methods, and you will also have a clean pool.
Everyone told me the same thing and I was getting tired of hearing it. But it is true!!! Don't give up. It's all worth it in the end.

Hi Everyone! I retested, here are the numbers:
Calcium Hardness = 400 (40x10)
Total Alkalinity = 80 (8x10)
PH: 7.2
Chlorine:
17 drops to change from pink to colorless: (17x.5) = 8.5 free chlorine
Added r0003 - turned very slight pink
Added 0871 1 drop to turn clear (1x.5) = .5 combined chlorine
18 again for Cyanuric Acid

Okay, what should I do next? Thank you, Jen

Okay, got the CYA - putting it in the pool now. The Walmart near me - always go and am always let down b/c they are out of stock of what I went for. I try to do price searches online. Ok, putting it in the pool and I will let the pump run all night and retest in the morning.
Thank you!

Don't retest the CYA in the morning. Test it in 1 week.

Added 27 gallons total of bleach.
CYA is 40 ppm
PH is 8.0 or higher
Cal Hardness 400 ppm
Total Alk: couldn't read b/c sample instead of turning green to red, turned green to yellow!
Can't check chlorine b/c there is too much in pool - test wasn't working.
Will it take all week to get this fixed? Am I going in the right direction?
Please help.
Thanks
Jen
