Hey all. I am working on getting my SWCG up and running so I can start enjoying my pool season. Disclaimer: I recently bought this house and it was a heavily-neglected foreclosure, most of the pools equipment seems in good shape but I can't verify the age or use of the salt cell.
Before trying to use the system, I cleaned the cell manually and with diluted muriatic acid to clear out the minimal scale. I tested out the SWCG a few weeks ago and it seemed to work: all diagnostic measurements were within spec, I saw bubbles from my return jets, but I didn't run it long enough to verify it was working as I was just starting my SLAM.
Last night, I measured my FC at 9 and salt at 3200pm. I set the switch to "Generate" to start getting a baseline at 50% after 8 hours of runtime overnight, and I found that my FC hadn't changed at all. When I checked the control panel, both "Inspect Cell" and "Check Salt" were flashing. After holding the diagnostic button to clear the "Inspect Cell," I toggled it off and on, set the dial to 100%, and confirmed it was generating (bubbles out of return jets).
I'll keep monitoring to see how it works, but is there anything else I can check before/when I get in the Inspect Cell/Check Salt situation again? As I have a ~20,000 gallon pool, it looks like I'll need another 40,000 gallon rated cell if I'm due for replacement.
Thanks!
