Hey guys I just replaced me older PDA panel with the latest greatest RS8 panel. I had a valve for cleaner but before that I moved the automatic valve to be able to change the secondary pump to steer water between either my waterfall and my deck fountains. I have the aux for the secondary pump and another one for the valve. I have a one touch control panel. I was wondering if someone could steer me in the right location so I could have "deck fountains" or waterfall so that I don't have to change either option. Also like the spa the pump really shouldn't run while changing modes. Any recommendations are much appreciated!

Thanks!

Neil

I only use the iAquaLink app so not familair with the One Touch Control. You have not put an automated actuator on the valve that switch between Deck Jets and Waterfall. But you want to put an actuator on it so you can select either one to turn the valve and start the dedicated pump. Is this accurate? Did you purchase the antenna with the new PCB or just the PCB to work with the One Touch control panel? How do you set schedules or other features?

Asking @PoolGate to offer any advice one you confirm some of the points above.

I use a onetouch at the panel to program for now. I am also using a raspberry pi w with AqualinkD to control things remotely. I don't have the iAqualink.

I guess I was hoping to have two modes - Waterfall and Deck Jets like Pool and Spa where when I activated one or the other it would do what it needs to, to make that work? There is an actuator on the valve connected to one of the aux ports. Thanks!

The RS PCB can only handle 4 actuators (JVA). 2 of the actuator sockets are preprogrammed to turn simultaneously when switching from pool mode to spa mode and back again. Then the pump linked to that turns on at completion of each movement.

You would want to program the other 2 (JVA) valve actuator sockets to do the same for your deck jets and water feature. Open one and close the other on each cycle. So rather than using 1 actuator you may have to use 2 actuators. Then the question becomes how to program it. The manual states "Multiple JVAs can be assigned to one (1) auxiliary button without extra hardware."
So you could assign 1 JVA (called Deck Jet) to the secondary pump, then also assign the remaining JVA called Water Feature to the same secondary pump. Each time you select the pump the actuators will rotate and one will open and the will close

I have not used my other 2 JVA sockets but this is how I would interpret how to set it up. You can always call Jandy for their thoughts. I cannot help with raspberry pi automation. Others may have more help on this.

I ordered an IQ 3.0 this morning so it will be here next week and I think I will have a better chance of figuring this out! Thanks!
Is the IQ30-ANT which is the antenna only? If so, great as that will connect into the RED connector. Does your RS8 PCB have the T.2 firmware?

Yes! Is that right? I just need the ANT to get it online?
Yes. Ensure you read the set up instructions because it has to register and then connect to your WiFi. They provide a fairly long (10ft - maybe more) wire that goes from the antenna to the RED connector.

Also, remember that only 2 devices can be connected to the same RED connector.

I got it online with the device but I kinda expected more from the interface and then you have to use Web for 'better' stuff? Can I not program in this interface??
Are you calling the “interface” the app? The app only lets you control and see what is on or off. The app has a button on top left which goes to the WEB where you do scheduling, set up, etc. I find it better just to log into the web version on my laptop to do the setup and scheduling. I have done minor changes from the phone app in web version.

I found scheduling. Its a weak interface - especially since you have to use the web version. I think the AqualinkD actually looks better - just doesn't allow you to program, unfortunately.

I am not sure if this entirely applies since there is a separate pump for the water fall / deck jets. I tried to understand it but Its not clear to me. And I believe I currently have Aux1 used as my Waterfall - which will operate the pump on for the water feature.
It is should be fine that you have the secondary (water feature) pump connected to AUX 1. You will connect the automatic actuator to either one of the remaining sockets (they are prelabeled Cleaner and Solar) Once you connect it, you will go into the settings and look for ASSIGN JVA. Then assign the socket you used to the AUX 1 When you select AUX1 the JVA should turn and enable your water feature.
I have a cleaner pump connected to my AUX 1 and I do not use an automated valve for that so I cannot see on my screen how it will look but the principle is the same.

If that doesn't work then you may need to move the secondary pump to AUX 2 or AUX 3 and then assign the JVA to that.

However, what I think will happen since there is only 1 actuator, is that the JVA will rotate. But it will rotate 180 degrees so one water feature will turn on the other will turn off. You may have to adjust the JVA to sync with what water feature opens.

So I have a selector valve that lets me choose where the secondary pump pumps the water out: either the deck jets or the waterfall. I have an actuator on the valve in either of those two positions. Not sure if this helps clarify my situation

Hey guys weather is getting nice again and I want to figure this out! I figured out that I have a Jandy actuator that one way is the waterfall and the other is the two deck fountains. The actuator is a 3 wire so it is plugged in to the cleaner port - not sure if this is appropriate but can be changed of course. If someone can provide some insight on how to make this work so that One way is the two deck fountains or the waterfall that would be great! Now I just turn on waterfall and the pump runs.

Post pictures of your equipment pad and plumbing and indicate which valves are for your fountain and waterfall.

Refer to Post #15
Also are you still working with Jandy Automation - iAquaLink?
Go to Menu - System Settings - Assign JVAs and show a screenshot of that.
Also, Go to Menu - System Settings - Label AUX and show a screenshot of that.

I tried to upload but the forums keep saying uploaded image is too big. Here is the link to the pic in imgur:

There is one valve. Left side is the waterfall output, right side goes to a valve that then splits out to the two deck fountains. I have it just going to both equally.
