Hello, I have a 20x40 inground pool going in. Currently the walls have been put up, plumbing is done, concrete lock is poured and they are just finishing the floor today. I noticed the panels on the shallow end weren’t straight before the concrete was poured. The pool builder came out and said everything was good. I have a bad feeling in my gut that your’ll see this when finished. Help me decide if this is an issue. For what it’s worth, it’s a reputable pool builder. It looks like the mold itself is out of square. If there was pressure against the wall, I'd be concerned its the pressure pushing against it and causing it, possibly leading to a stress crack in the future.

Being that it looks like the pool was possibly molded that way, I'd be less worried about it, other than aesthetics. The coping should hide 99% of it.

Yes, I am borderline OCD with this stuff but my wife agrees with you. She doesn't think anyone will notice besides me. I am hoping to talk to the concrete patio installer this week and see his opinion. I am hoping he can "straighten it out" with concrete. I don't want to start a fight with the builder at this early stage since he already was there and said it was fine. But is it fine or is it correct? I am not so sure.

It’s not square but very common it seems.

That's what these turnbuckles are for.

You adjust the top to straight before pouring concrete.

You might be able to adjust it now, but maybe not.

The steps look like they lean back too much.

Is it something you would notice walking around a friend's pool
99% of the time, nobody will ever notice. Do what I do. Anytime a friend is scrutinizing something that looks off, I give them a gentle shove so that they can get a closer look from inside the pool. :devilish:

My wall is cement and dead on, the coping is 40ft of stones and has some bow to it. Perfect is an illusion.

Walls are level and plumb. Even the other three walls are straight. This wall is perfectly symmetric with the walls on the sides of the stairs being the same which to me was weird. My opinion is it looks bad as well. The issue I have is since the lock is poured I think It wont move since the stairs are also concreted in and bolted to the walls.

As NewDude says " Perfect is an illusion." I never hire people to do anything and from the last few contractors I have hired for roof, painting, and pool, I have found that they surely care less than I do. I don't know how it can be fixed without hammering the concrete out, putting new panels in, and repouring the concrete. I know that's not my problem but I can't imagine the builder is going to want to do that.

My stairs were twisted and likely would have thrown a steel wall out of whack. I waited over a year from them and they were clearly a post shortage / no quality control supply, but I didn't dare send them back.

You might be able to adjust the turnbuckle.

In my opinion, it looks goofy and stupid.

I would want it fixed.

Let the builder figure it out.

They created the problem, they can figure out how to fix it.

What was the end result, does anyone notice now that the pool is done?

I think I will call the builder up and see if he can meet me at the house tonight or tomorrow morning to talk about it in person. I want to see his initial reaction.

Can you put a level on the wall to see if it is perfectly vertical everywhere?
I will have to check again when I go home. They were good previously when I checked but that was before the concrete lock. However, they look the same now as they did before the lock.
