Pentair Rebel pool cleaner trouble

Good day to everyone,
I had a pool built beginning October 2016, it was finished in Spring 2017. I am having trouble with my Pentair Rebel pool cleaner. I have been researching online and have tried all recommendations, to no avail. My rebel used to run quickly around my pool, up the sides and clean it in about 2 hours. Now it is moving very slowly and stays in the deep end (only 5') not doing its job at all. I have a pool guy who is of no help. I just cleaned the pool filter - it had 2 a smaller one inside a larger one - for the first time, but it made no difference. I purchased and installed new tires, which it did need. I took the Rebel to Leslie's pool and they said that the gears were all in good working order. I don't know what else to do? Any suggestions?

Please and thank you.

Did your pool store check the drive shafts? I recently had similar problem where my couple year old Rebel wouldn't leave the deep end. I discovered that the splines on the left drive shaft (Pentair part number 360289) were worn down -- see picture below. I replaced that ~ $30 part and now my Rebel works great again.

Had same problem. Went mad - Pinch Pool employees checked vacuum and determined nothing wrong with it. I changed wheel rubber, did not help, tried without filter to exclude that as problem, same. Mine vacuum shaft was worn MUCH less than one your picture, perhaps 2x less, yet after changing it, it started going all over and climbing walls. Problem was when PP installed my vacuum they used subcontractors who did not install it proper - did not put float on, did not put wear sleeve, did not install valve OR measured suction. So vacuum was working way too fast/hard and shaft not only got worn but was bent a little (i compared to new one i got from amazon). Now all is good.
