Nature2 Fusion SWG and Minerals

The mineral system part of this system is totally optional. We do not recommend using the minerals. If you have a Fusion system it is best to use the SWG side with an empty mineral cartridge.

The minerals provide no sanitary advantage and can accumulate in your pool water and stain the pool surfaces. The Nature 2 Fusion mineral pack adds copper and silver to your pool. Copper can stain your pool and turn hair green.

The SWG portion is full featured and the same as the Jandy AquaPure SWG. The unit itself is robust. It sits well on the pad. It has a drain plug to winterize and the cell is completely and easily removable. It is very serviceable.

Jandy and FusionSoft are both under the Zodiac umbrella. Nature2 Fusion connects into the Jandy iAqualink for full control.

Running Without The Mineral Cartridge

If you don't want to use the mineral cartridge to start with you can not install the mineral cartridge at all and just leave the original blank cap on. Or you can use a hacksaw to cut off the blue mineral cartridge, to continue to use the orange cap.

Removing the Minerals from a Cartridge

First, remove the mineral pack from the unit.

Second, break the grey ring at the bottom of the mineral pack. This will make it easier to break apart the darker blue covering that holds the bag of minerals.

Third, break apart the dark blue cover so that you can remove the bag of mineral balls. It is okay if you break part of the dark blue cover, just make sure that you don't break the grey top and the part of the blue cover that attached to the grey cover.

Fourth, once apart, clean the part that is going back into the unit, as shown as the blue and grey piece at the top of the first photo. You don't want to introduce copper and metals back into the water

Swap Fusion Mineral System to the Fusion Soft

The Fusion Mineral System can be replaced with the Fusion Soft and allow a SWG system to be run without the mineral cartridges.

Changing Cell Sizes - 700 to 1400

The Nature2 Fusion Soft can have a 700 cell for 12,000 gallons or a 1400 cell for up to 40,000 gallons. There is a jumper that needs to be properly set for the size cell installed:

• With the 700 cell, the jumper needs to be cut
• With the 1400 cell, the jumper needs to be intact
• You can cut the jumper if you need to in upgrading from the 700 to the 1400
• You can reconnect the jumper if downgrading from a 1400 to 700 although we don't knwo why you would do that.

Melted Connectors problems

A check revealed no/low Cl levels. There were no errors on the equipment, though a 'service' light was briefly seen. On inspection, the SWG electrodes melted.

It probably had water leaking through the center pin around the edges.

Remove the cell assembly and then remove the two screws between the pins and remove the cover plate that slides over the pins.

The screws are in the two holes under the corrosion.

As salt water gets up in the connection, the connection generates chlorine gas on one polarity and hydrogen gas on the other polarity. This causes corrosion and eventually complete failure.

Below the seal plate, there are O-rings on each pin that should seal the pins.

However, the seals can leak. The center pin seems to leak the most. It is best inspect the seals every once in a while to make sure they are still in good shape.
