White Water mold

Hello,
I left on vacation and my chlorine levels went to less than 0.5. My pool was cloudy even though I got my chlorine levels up and my ph, alk,, and cya were all in good range. Yesterday I realized I had white water mold. I brushed the whole pool, used 2 gallons of liquid chlorine and 1 bag of burnout to kill the mold. My question is now - do I need a product like aquafinesse or ahh-some to clean the pipes of my pool? I've been reading a lot about a biofilm in the pipes. Thanks!

I have a 10k gallon fiberglass pool. Chlorine based with a UV light and an autocover.

Plain bleach is fine. Be sure it shows the % sodium hypochlorite on the bottle or it is likely less than 3%. No Cloromax, fabric protection, splashless, scents, etc.

Check pool stores, farm stores, Home Depot, etc for liquid chlorine. Be sure to check Julian dates on the boxes or bottles. Typically it is a date such as 19XXX or XXX19. The XXX is the number of days in 2019 at which it was bottled. Look for product within 60 days of today.

I have not heard of anyone using AhhSome in a pool, but lets ask @Ahhsomeguy about it.

I see you have a ColorQ. You need a FAS-DPD test kit to supplement that.

Hello Jujuperry: Mknauss asked if we manufacture a product that will alleviate bio-contamination in swimming pools. The answer is Yes. Many pool owners have no idea that their many feet of pvc piping can have biomatter build-up that can place stress on sanitizer demand and can cause many pool water clarity issues. Ahh-Some Pool Water Clarifier & Bio-Cleaner is added every 28-30 days at the rate of 6 ounces per 18-20K gallons. When first added over the first few months you will definitely see brilliant water clarity as a result of the product lifting gunk from the plumbing infrastructure and allowing your filter to entrap finer and finer particulates and allowing your sanitizer to work more efficiently. One caveat! The first time you use the product you will notice a big dip in sanitizer residuals as your sanitizer will work overtime oxidizing what the Ahh-Some is lifting from the piping, skimmer(s), tile, grout, marcite or vinyl liner. After a few days of excessive sanitizer demand you will notice that less sanitizer is needed to maintain your typical residual. Bottom line is that, yes, we do make a pool product. If you have cloudy water conditions, excessive chlorine demand, bio-gunk sticking to tough to get to places even after brushing, the Ahh-Some Pool product will definitely help. Pools using Baquacil or other PHMB products will find this product very helpful in alleviating issues that have been well documented in this forum. We would love to tell you much more about this product but we do not want to violate any rules of the forum regarding advertising a specific product. We answered here because a question was posed directly to us.
