white plaster vs dark finish -- algae and water temp

I'd like for my white plaster pool to be a little warmer, and i've been told that a dark finish replaster would make a significant difference. But i'm concerned that dark finish would make it harder to see if algae starts to form despite my best yet sometime imperfect efforts to maintain FC. Thoughts?

By the time you can see algae in your pool you are well along with an algae bloom.

With good water testing you should be able to identify a rise in your FC demand that can indicate algae in a clear pool. And if you keep your Fc within TFP ranges you should never get algae.

The only time I have gotten algae was when my SWG cell failed and I didn't check it for a few days. My pool was still clear and an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test confirmed some algae had taken hold.
