WHITE FOAM ON SURFACE/NO FC

There is white foam on the surface. All tests are within normal limits except free chlorine. Water is cloudy. Ugh. I have drained down to two feet twice [and added fresh water]. I just added four gallons of SHOCK. I vacuumed and brushed yesterday--not sure what I was doing because I cannot see the bottom. Pool companies say they really do not have any ideas. I have had it//tired of crying.

Can you post a picture of the foam? Have you added any algaecide?
Can you post test results? Do you have your own test kit?
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

If there's algae lurking in the depths, foam is not uncommon as it dies. Check out the pictures in this thread. A little encouragement for those with algae and new to BBB

Also some algaecides foam up, as does splashless bleach.

Let's see those test results.
If your ch is less than 50 that can also cause foam.
