Hello Everyone, we have opened our pool for the summer season, and when i powered up the salt cell we are getting a white film layer on the water does anyone know why this happens?

Did you use an algaecide at closing? Sometimes there's a reaction like this when those products begin to oxidize. You could post a full set of test numbers for us as well, but I suspect the first start-up and SWG's creation of fresh FC is causing this. Once you confirm all levels are adjusted it should dissipate and resolve itself.

Thank You for the quick response.

the film seemed to disappear, what i did notice this morning when the film was coming out of the jets, the pressure gauge seemed to rise a little bit, do you think maybe by turning on the cell there was a bit of air lock?

just took readings they

fc - 2

tc - 2

ph - 7.8

ta - 100

cya - 30

CH?

I think Pat got it. Something organic in the water. Elevated FC levels ought to clear it up in a few days.
